everybody has their own timetable when it comes to leaving the organization.
some due to family and friends continue indefinetly.
others, when they see all the lies of the "truth", leave right away.

anybody remembers 'mr.
coffee' an agitator @ bethel c. 1980's.
he was a bum(?
I remember him, I heard he was hit by a WT truck and won a settlement. The WT should be proud of men like him, he made opposers of the time look real intelligent.

the recent kidnapping and rescue of two ca teenage girls was a dramatic event.
life and death was at it's threshold for both girls for twelve hours.
these two young ladies did not know each other and were thrust into a situation where they were able to communicate by drawing letters on each others hands at times.
Minimus;
>" but you forget 1 important thing.....if they were JW's , they wouldn't been at lover's lane with their boyfriends.And everthing would have been alright.",
Your right, this point I made covered it:
"The JW's would be placing blame of the victims because of what they were doing at the time of the abduction."
Neonmadman;
> "But the really important question is, did they scream while he was doing it?" <
How true.

well, it seems from the responses to the weekend poll that being a regular meeting attender was not a protection from apostasy!!
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=33757&site=3
strange that the wts should always 'encourage' regular meeting attendance for protection.
Ozzie;
> "What do you think? Were the meetings a protection against 'wicked apostate thinking'? " <
Not in my case, I was at every meeting (27 years) up untill a few months before I left and never looked back.

CA Kidnapping vs. JW Doctrine
The recent kidnapping and rescue of two CA teenage girls was a dramatic event. Life and death was at it's threshold for both girls for twelve hours. These two young ladies did not know each other and were thrust into a situation where they were able to communicate by drawing letters on each others hands at times. Some sort of deviance was committed by their captor, they would not discuss those details with the media this morning (NBC). Also of note for some, they were of different race than each other. Their plan was carried out moments before their life was about to end, they stabbed in the neck with a knife and hit with a whisky bottle, moments before the perpetrator was shot and killed by police.
Analyzing and contrasting such a situation, there are many issues that would come up if one or both of these girls had been JW's, or not.
The JW's would be placing blame of the victims because of what they were doing at the time of the abduction.
One girl mentioned she prayed a lot, but didn't mention exactly what she said. Do you think God heard her prayers?
If they had both been JW's and one were disfellowshipped could they communicate to save themselves or would following the shunning rule be more important? These two girls now appear to have formed a bond that will last for life.
JW's always mention the race unity among them as if it is a special and unique happening among them. The rest of world has many more good examples then the JW's it's just not forced upon you and allowed to happen naturally, it does as it should.
Both girls, crying, mentioned how traumatic it was to see a life taken right in front of them, "inches", even though he had hurt them. Far cry from waiting for six billion people to be massacred so they can plunder your belongings.
Oh! also the hand held firearms used by the police (Satan's spawn remember) you can not use a modern weapon such as a gun as a JW adherent.
There assuredly are many more ridiculous JW rules that could be applied to this event and every day life as well. It's nice to be able to see things with the proper emotional level and be able to feel for victims as one should, rather than following so-called "JW bible" rules and doctrine. This "system" does work and does "care", you must be away from the hours of doom and gloom drilled into our heads to see how it really is.

i am shocked and outraged by the recent actions of the watchtower society to silence child advocates who's only agenda is to stop the rape and molestation of jehovah's witness children and protect them from the known pedophiles operating within the organization.
those in the organization who are responsible for these reprehensible actions must be sanctioned.
i sincerely hope that voting members of the watchtower society will insist on the removal of all corporate directors who support the current policies that harm children and protect pedophiles.
Lee Elder;
Good points, the sad reality is the damage has been done. Those families that were df'd for protecting the children will not be exonerated by the WT even if the policy did a 180* flip. The arrogance will prevail among the WT elite, "running ahead of the organization" will still be an excuse and also "causing divisions" as reasons to boot someone, will not go away. I hope the WT "sinks" as you say and the good ones leave. The remaining members must notice an exodus from the ranks? Then again, demonizing the ones who leave with lies and slander is still a very effective means of control. The slow chipping away at the big arrogant block, (WT) is also very effective and makes many happy.

it should be obvious by now that the society's vindictive policies.
are having a negative effect.
how many angry and disgruntled.
Arrogance!
i dont know whether ive posted on this before, but when i was a young guy we used to get up to some fearfull mayhem on friday and saturday nights.
we burnt down buildings, blew cars up, shotgunned houses and blasted windows out while people slept inside, stole cars and piled them into telegraph poles, and ran cars off the road just for laughs.
now the thing is, while we were doing this...we were all active dubs!.
Whoa Is Right!
That gives me some insight into why the Tallyban act as they do.

i have seen this talked about many times and on many xjw boards but never really hit on the reason i have searched so fervently for it.. why do i expect to find "unconditional love" in my relationships.. well the answer has smacked me in the face.
normal people, that is non jw associates, normally get this kind of love from thier parents.
the parent child bond is the closest thing to unconditional love that i have ever felt, i have kids and i know this.
Libra;
Witnesses are mostly idealists when it comes to daily life and dealing with fellow Witnesses. Unconditional love did not exist, as you say, among them between parent and child, it is overruled by WT dogma and destroys families natural ties. Not to say family ties are not broken outside the WT but they are not dictated, as if from god, and to be adhered to for fear of death.
Will you ever find "unconditional love" even with strangers? I doubt it, but if you do have fun while it lasts.
