  My wife wants the stepson to 'study'....any ideas??

  as if i did not have enough stress in my life right now.....we have a son who has finally come clean on some of the things he has done in the past, and these things were pretty bad.

  my wife (who many of you probably feel you know from earlier posts) has been acting very interested in the jws and now with the son's admittance of his transgressions, she has decided that it is time for him to 'meet his maker', so she has told him that the two of them will be studying the 'bible' together.

  she has talked to the sister she has studied with about this and she is more than willing to help by providing literature to guide the studies, i am guessing the 'young people ask' books.

  and now with the son doing some pretty bad things, she is thinking that the only way he can be set straight is to 'follow Jehovah'.....

  sure.Possibly this may be a chance to consider something earnestly.

  Since there is such information, I tell you.
  Do you know that the Ten Commandments is not written by an imperative form in the Hebrew text?
  In Hebrew, it is written by the negative form of future tense.
  Therefore, literal translation is as follows.

  "You will not steal." EXODUS 20:15

  God has not given the command and says, "You are not a person who steals."
  
  Such an expression of God differs from teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses.

  I state my views a little.

  You are your wife's "husband" and are her son's present "father."
  You are THE father of your stepson's.

  Therefore, I think that you should take the "leadership." (Not "your wife takes")
  Your stepson's future is influenced by your present action.

  You should develop your stepson's possibility.

  The education of Jehovah's Witnesses will crush your stepson's possibility (potential ability).
  Do you permit such a thing?

  Do you love your wife's son?

  I think that you yourself should protect him from "slavery."
  Probably, you are the only person who can do it.

  Please protect him.

  is believing jesus to be the messiah and following the model set forth in scripture enough?

  or does one have to understand accurately the 'nature,essence, etc" of things..... if so why?

  I am a Japanese.
  Religion of Japan is mainly "Shinto" and "Buddhism".
  Christians are only 1% of the Japanese.

  I feel that the talks only by English-speaking people are not good.
  In many cases, the explanation in this forum is unacceptable in Japanese people.

  Generation change & Michael/Jesus - wife's bible study

  sat in on my wife's bible study tonight, next week the husband of her study sister is coming with her, he is actually the presiding overseer of the congregation.

  tried to get me to talk about trinity next week, but the topics will be either generation or michael.. .

  the sister pointed to the statement in matthew on generation, i believe it was matthew 24:14 and said that since jesus was talking to his disciples, that equates to the anointed.

  I was Jehovah's Witnesses between quarter of a century.
  What I can say from my experience, the creed of Jehovah's Witnesses does not make people happy.

  Yeah,
  They do not confirm whether it is true that the Governing Body has stated.
  They only swallow everything what is written in their publication.

  It is very different from what the Bible teaches.
