What is the meaning then of "One of " Jehovah's Christian Witnesses? I have seen lately the term "Christian" inserted -- such as in the newspaper covering the DAs.

"One of" Jehovah's Witnesses
by NeonMadman inany thoughts on that particular phrasing?
personally, i think the wts uses it as another form of mind control.
by calling the individual "one of jehovah's witnesses," it lends a generic feel to the wording.

Flouride and Chlorine in our drinking water is poisoning us to death?
by Witness 007 inamerican dental association now reccomends due to health problems children under 12 not drink tap water with flouride!!!!

Does anyone know about any of the Sohl family? They lived in Flushing Meadows, Queens, New York. Mary was the mom, Bill the dad - not a JW. Their youngest son was Richard Sohl, a fine pianist, whom I believe, played professionally with the Patti Smith group. I believe that Richard died. There was another older brother Steve, and about 2 other sisters....Nancy and Carol?? They were quite a well known family back in the 1960's.

Meal nights for meeting nights
by Lady Lee inas a jw i had an elder and 2 kids to feed.
because of the elder we always had to be at the hall early - not an easy thing between homework and dinner.. so meeting nights i had a set schedule of things to cook and serve that were easy to make, eat and clean up after.
my ex is italian so pasta was a staple in our house except on meeting nights - couldn't have red spaghetti sauce splattered on clothes.

Our school and TMS was on a Friday night. We ordered pizza from the KH phone (before cell phones) and it was ready to be picked up by the time we got there. We always ate at 10:00 p.m. on Friday nights.
The Book Study was at our house, so whatever my mom cooked, we had to be sure there were no "food" odors in the house by 7:30 p.m.

Who has given the masterbation talk on the TMS?
by Out at Last! ini had the "privelege" of giving the masterbation talk years ago.
when i looked at the talk slip and saw the theme, i thought at least they have an expert on the subject.
the best thing about it was that the point i was to be counseled on was gestures.

Does this strike anyone else as being sick and perverted? I remember some of those earlier talks in the 70's -- one was given by an "older" single, never married brother in his 50's who lived at home with his mother. WTF was that about? I have always objected to these talks and the inappropriatness of them in mixed, expecially ages, audiences.

Looking for name of a show from when I was a kid: Marionettes flying around in a wooden rocket ship
by Elsewhere inthe other day some friends and i were talking about shows we liked when we were kids.
one show i absolutely loved when i was a kid, but cannot remember the name, was about some kids who would fly around in a tall wooden rocket ship.
the characters were all marionettes on strings and the ship looked like it was cobbled together will bits and pieces of scrap wood with a cone on the top.. i think it aired in the 1970's or 1980's.

On the topic of "old" kids shows, how about "Howdy Doody" Clarabell, Captain Kangaroo Mr. Green Jeans, Mr. Jing-a-ling, Soupy Sales, Romper Room, Sky King, Engineer Bill, Sheriff John, Captain Midnight, Rin Tin Tin, Lassie, Make Room for Daddy, some may be local. What other ones do your remember or am I missing?

anyone visit haunted hotels
by John Doe inas a hobby?
i've toyed with the idea of staying in a few, just for the hell of it.
the crescent hotel in eureka springs is only an hour and a half from here.

The Queen Mary is supposed to have many haunted sites. I stayed there once in the hotel -- nothing weird happened. Went on the "haunted" tour -- "Ghosts & Legends" again nothing.

I recall a young volunteer in the kitchen back in the 1960's who got scalded quite badly. She went to the hospital. How would this figure in, legally, who paid? a minor "working" in the kitchen of a Circuit Assembly venue? In a high school cafeteria (as we once used)?
