  Newspaper "Death Notice" , "Obituary" Territory

  my husband's death notice was posted in the paper and the location of the service was included.

  a couple of weeks later i received a forwarded envelope from the church where the service was held.

  it was addressed "to the family of ....." inside was a hand written note of comfort and a tract.

This seems like a good way of getting in service time. Anyone else had this happen to them?

  i have been awol for a while.

  i lost my husband to cancer after a long couragous battle of 5 years.

  i honored his wishes with a catholic mass.

  Hi,

  I have been AWOL for a while. I lost my husband to cancer after a long couragous battle of 5 years. I honored his wishes with a Catholic mass. My youngest JW (active) sister attended, sat in the back row and cried. My other sister and BIL attended the after reception. I have received a number of sympathy cards from JWs. His "service" was a great tribute to him. Quite unlike the "infomercial" given at the KH.

  My 40th HS Reunion pic

  had a blast at my 40th hs reunion this past weekend.

  helped to organize it...and that was half the fun.

  here's a pic of the reunion committee... i'm 3rd from the left standing up.... taken just before everyone else started arriving.

  Thank you for sharing your photos. You look GREAT! My 45th is next year and I am planning to attend. I live a 4 hour flight away, but try to get back every 5 years for the reunion. Our class was also small - 124 graduates. I have followed your story about the reunion with interest. Pretty much the same core group attends each time. Although an active JW when in high school, I was in concert band, German Club and some other activities.

  One hundred eleven assemblies

  my dad visited recently and somehow we got on the subject of assemblies.

  he's been in the truth 37 years and figured he'd been to 3 assemblies a year.

  that meant he had been to 111 assemblies in his life!

  Yankee Stadium 1958. Mom, Dad, me, sister age 5, Mom's friend and her 2 daughters ages 8 and 5 -- all in a 1955 Chevy Station Wagon. Drive from Cleveland to New York in the summer - no air conditioning - and friend's 5 year old daughter car sick all the way home. Now that was something.

  Then of course the many summer assemblies with Grandma and her ripe bananas in the car. Driving to Detroit, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Buffalo.

  Also the train 3 days and 2 nights in Coach to attend assemblies in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Albuquerque. Sums up all of my Summers.

  My sister died in a head on collision last night

  i still can't believe it.

  she was here for the bbq, we had an awesome time, laughing, her telling stories from our childhoods.

  i gave her a hug and told her i loved her before she left.
