  Trying to Fade, Now they want to interview me on the SAD!!!

  i resigned as an elder some time ago, have been working on fading, the wife is getting used to the new 'me' (not stressed, better husband and father, etc.

  ), been missing a lot of meetings... even received a few statements such as: 'hi burnedout, it's good to see you!!!

  last sunday, i took my one of my sons to the local dragstrip to show him the races, oops missed the meeting.

  Your mind is in turmoil right now and will take a lot of time and effort to undo what has been done to you throughout the years in the org. This is a massive move for you -to step down and now do a fade...

  Give it time - Join AA,they have a step program that could be the step program for leaving the org.... forget about the car - if you don't, they will have won.. you are finding a life with your family now, work on your wife, as a loving and more thoughful husband..scriptures tell a wife - that with her patience and kindness, she can save her husband --i.e. truth speak - make him a JW---but on the other hand, the same is true with a husband -could make her look at what is really true if you blend the love with sprinkles of why you are fading, slowly, not all at once, over a period of time, fein depression, anxieties, sadness... women can understand that most times. She seems to be strong in the faith now -- as she is happy to be asked to do the part.. if your uncomfortable, tell her so but dont tell her about the fade now....If you do, she may well talk to her "friends" who will talk to the elders.. you need time to work this out in your mind..

  what belongs to an individual jehovah's witness that is their's alone?.

  do they have their own personal opinions?

  do they have their own taste in clothing, recreation, friends?.

  I agree with SD7 -- if you don't want your life public, stay as private as you can -without it bothering your conscience - after all its mine, not theirs.. I know they take the scripture - to keep your eye on each other - not quite that -- but its like everyone has the right to either tell you what to do, or report you if you get out of line, or argue with you -- me I would not stand for any of that stuff...

  Zid said its Rutherford's fault - I agree -- he did not want his life made public according to all the bad press he would have received..now today, we have letters and eye witness testimonies who saw him for what he really was.. its so sad the society wont come clean.. the two dvd's do not go into the early days of the org other than how they won legals fights.

  Usually, the person who thinks these restrictive guidelines up is going through the same things in their lives and feel restrictions apply to everyone cause they cant trust themselves.. such was Rutherfords mind.. as a lawyer-he would try to outthink and outwit those "beneath" him...

  how prideful he was!! It goes before a fall! Still waiting....

  Three traits:

  Pride - being presumptuous-speaking of men in the congregation who want to be elders but not for the spiritual aspect - to pull others away from the truth -to cause divisiveness...

  Ingratitude - murmmerers -forgetting the truth that rescued them from false religion.. guess that was for promising elders too- majority of the talk was because these men arose from among "us"...

  Aliens and Cowboys look like a great sci fi movie -- Super 8 was really good -- and Transformers is 2 1/2 hours long -- maybe -- first two were not bad..

  Dont care who is in them -- just like the action, of course Daniel Craig is in Cowboys and Aliens

  Is this the location where they are building a NEW 60,000 sq foot sports/rec area with an olympic swimming pool? The plans are on here somewhere - I saw them

  So much for competition.. but then, as all the younger volunteers are not going to be able to drive to a shopping centre, store, etc... they have to keep them busy and interested and burn off the rigors of line drudgery.. get them into a good competitive sport of basketball, hockey.. do they really think no one will know about this... what about all the brothers and sister who are suffering because of floods, hurricanes, loss of property -- any excess monies in the WT banks should be going to congregations who are literally wiped out!!! Any WT lurker taake that message back to the governing body!!

  Jesus did not need money, John lived in the desert, Paul worked for his, as did the apostles, they gave monies - foods supplies to the widows, the poor-- what is the organization doing but wanting more money! I dont give anymore and won't!!

  Wonder what the elders would say if all the foks wanted to go to the competitive arenas around the nation.. I remember when the elders stopped get togethers at a skating rink!!

  Wonder who is going to pay gas for the bethelites who have to travel an hour into Pennsylvania and other out bound congregations twice a week for meetings, and then what about their gas for field service??? Hey ! Anybody up there listening!!

  Somewhere on this board about 2 years ago, I do believe, there was a link when the FBI released a lot of "older" reports. I copied them off at that time and gave them to my son, as he was doubtful as you were, when he read them he changed his mind,

  along with that was the court reports on the employees who were sued by MJ.

  If u cant find them I will ask if he still has them and I may be able to copy for you and you will have to tell me how to get them on this board cause I dont know how to do it
