Elders- Have any of You faded Because of participating in a JC where the Arguments from the accused made sense to you?

i know the question is long, but it has occured to me that there are a lot of newbies here but before that, many ex elders, some co and do's that are no longer jw's.... did the publishers comments at a jc about the misconceptions,dates, and lack of holy spirit, etc.

make sense to you and did you start thinking about the failed prophecies, fudging the "new light" etc.

which caused you to slowly fade away.. .

Bump In case there are other elders, i e Winston Smith, etc. Winston Churchill --- etc. who would want to comment on their leaving the org due to involvement of judging others in a JC... So far, it seems that this is a devasting experience for those with emphathy towards those who have had to appear before a tribunal of "strangers" really - exposing their deepest embarassments Appreciate all the comments so far, thanks eveyone TL

I may be off base, but I do donate to the local fire hall, the local hospital, the animal shelters and volunteer on the phones for a health group.. and if someone needs somethin, I always, always give it to them - never have I sold anything to anyone who is in need.. TL

Governing Body Taking It To The Limit With Reguards To Rank And File Gullibility, How Far Will They Go?

when you look at the new governing body and what they are dishing out to the rank and file, it shows that they are taking their gullibilty to the limits.. they appeal only to this gullibilty with tremendous leaps in logic they read the mind of god and tell the rank and file, what makes jehovah sad(for 3year old mentality), what all the issues are in heaven that are invisible to human eyes, their take on this "universal soverneingty" completely invisible and unsubstantiated by any degree of logic, composed of wishful thinking thought projections of a fantacy, and this makes up everything in their whole theology on which they proceed as a starting point.. the rank and file for the most part are eating this up, some are awakening because of this babel that is comming from the top ceos of this corporation, will the trickle become a flood as the governing body plays the gullibility card to the max?

time will tell, as time is already telling us they are more and more relying on the gullibility of the rank and file with no limits in sight.. what will they do when their delusional thinking and resulting bullshit found in their communications to the rank and file reach a tipping point and are causing great losses for their corporation?

April 15 WT gullibility -- the picture in the last lesson of Jehovahs Throne in the heavens as seen in the Ezekiel vision and then listed below that picture indicating Jehovah is dealing directly to 1) The governing body, then the district overseers, then the circuit overseers, elders, down to the publishers --- leaving Jesus out of the picture entirely - and I bet nothing will be said during this lesson re this profane picture--

(also note the heirachy levels -which the society says is not applicable)

First the hints of Jesus not being our Mediator for years, now the visual of this set up is disturbing - to say the least and this will be swallowed hook line and sinker! Especially since the scripture says " He( Jesus), is a mediator, not only for US but for the whole world" - how can this be displaced by a group of men who, in their own words during the 2012 Oct Annual Meeting state they do not have a hole in the ceiling " whereby they receive any enlightment from the spirit when making decisions and some things are not discussed for years....we could die in that time...

Major gullibility by probably 80% -- the old 20/80 rule!

Discussion with family member who is an Elder in our congregation

so about a week ago, i showed my cousin & her husband [an elder in our congregation] the picture on pg 29 of our 4/15/2013 study wt and asked, "if jesus is head of the congregation then where is he?".

after several minutes of searching, dead silence.. i then asked if they had heard the part on the 2012 summer district conv the part about "our spiritual mother, where the c.o said that "the bible by itself does not shine thru as life-giving truths just by itself.

" they were shocked and said that i must have misheard it because that would be apostasy.

Getting back to the "Mother" organization again, I did some research and they are re - hashing the 1957 edition of the WT on this subject and , after being dropped before, now are bringing it back again, saying that the mother organization is heavenly - Jehovahs woman, whenceforth came Jesus, BUT the kicker is that now the 144,000 - Jesus' bride --- will be part of that heavenly organization called mother and the question is: Does that make Jesus inferior to the 144,000? After all, the 144,000 only died righteous for their own sake, they did not die for the world of mankind who put faith in Jesus sacrifice so why would they be elevated to a higher position than Jesus

By the way NE, I had the exact same questions after I heard the talk and it has bothered me to the extreme. I have mentioned this to other Dubs but I think I am now marked, so be it.

i have been skimming the magazine this morning, and the whole issue seems designed to keep the flock at the kh.

yes, i know this is not exactly " new " information.

still with all the problems the organization is having, this one just seemed to strike me as odd.

I thought the statement in par 6 that we need courage because MERE MEN may demand that we act contrary to God's will was strange...... Are they speaking of the Austrailian court issues? or the courts may be after them to change the 2 witness rule about pedophelia since they are calling elders meetings this week on this issue?? and I also did mark par 8 as well, that is mentioned above that we need to be strengthened in the coming months.... great minds think alike, I take it The society always mentions changes within thee DC, CA, mags it intentions months ahead and slowly, repeats it in different articles, and then gets it placed in context so it will be accepted when it hits...psychological warfare at its best..

When Was The Last Time "The Friends" Checked Up On You? Spiritual or Social Visit?

i know of two couples who left the congregation i faded from, they two have never received a shepherding call, i was usually the one who came by with food or offered to help clean their homes.

most of you are beyond this like i am, this goes to the new members arriving here who might think the "friends" are coming to check up on them.

the elders in my former hall were too much into drinking and eating, average body weight was 265lbs with pumpkin shaped bodies.

phone call, last month - not because I was ill, but wanted my time - no asking how I was - that was my spiritual visit.. no shepherding calls as I refused the last 2 requests - had things to do

during time of sickness - only my friends who knew I was ill called or asked if I needed help

well, i finally found him on facebook!.

his name is tollie padgett.

he was my congregation overseer (before the "elder" changeover) when i was in prison in seagoville in the late 60's.. i've been searching for him for years and years.

So he friended you....

I think your account of the friendship can be spoken of, how much you appreciated all he did for you and that you love him for his caring and protectiveness. He seems to be the kind not to be afraid of anything and use all in his power to overcome what seems like insurmountable obstacles, using the powers that be in his favor to get justice rather than just letting it be taken care of by those in the congregation who should be caring for your life and soul. For all the words spoken of off the platform, rarely do you see such enthusiasm or caring actually acted upon.

If nothing else comes of it, at least he will know your true feelings and that he is one person who you admire trememdously. Because, as you well know, once it is said you have left the truth and he and his wife are still in, its a slippery slope from there on down. But no matter what comes of it, at least he will know your gratitude in standing up for you when others did not.... he may come back to you and with all your knowledge and quick wit, being quite a master of language and start asking questions himself... you never know...

When Jesus returns --- doesn't He separate the sheep from the goats - indicating only he knows anyone's heart condition and that nations who have not heard the "good News" will have a chance to acept or reject? and on that note - there is a rumor that the society is pulling missionaries out of some countries - could that be because they are in danger iof death from those who do not want prostelites in their country?

That is probably spelled wrong, but you get the drift.

Now I now the society says he returned in 1914-1918 but I cant go along with that premise... mainly because He says when he returns, only then will he give his FDS all his belongings and that has not happened yet, according to the Annual Meeting spiel in Oct 2012 and delivered by the holy ones - the GB members!

Will be interesting to see what spin is put on this if someone is thinking..otherwise, they will read the answer in the cited info.
