A new friend has contacted me about going to a healer. She sounds like she has helped many with health problems here in my area. Since, I am in the Bible belt of the south most would consider her to be from the demons. She is in her 80's and has had this gift since a teen. The many ailments she has helped with are arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, migraines, you name it. Anyway, since I am open to new things after leaving the Borg is it something that anyone else has tried for their aches and pains?

Letterman is the best by far. I just couldn't pass this topic by without a comment. I'll make it brief. Anyone remember Steve Allen? He was so funny and that laugh of his just made you laugh.

I am going off the board. I feel it has run its course I leave it to those who want it. There are some who have made me unwelcome on here, so I will sign off. It has been a blessing to have the comfort of others who have been through the same experiences as I and shared very helpful expressions. Thank you for those. I have made some friends by going to Apostafests in Texas, Toronto, & Richmond and met some of you lovely people. When that happened I was only a lurker. I will move on to make my life better by not having to deal with the ones that hurt me. I do wish you all the best, have the best holiday that you can. I am going to a Christmas party tonight. {{{hugs to you who know me}}}

Goodbye to JWD ... hello to JWN !
by Simon inas i announced some time ago, jwd as it is will not continue .... ... but .... it's clear from people's comments that they do like the site and many would like it or something else like it to continue.. one issue was the forum software that was self-developed and not really in a good state to hand-over to anyone but i've been working on that and can now reveal the first release of what will probably be called jwn (son of jwd):.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/.
it is still work-in-progress so not all features are enabled yet but it will allow you to browse the site in a similar way to this one and it is pointing at the same database (although because of the way the caching works, new posts made on this site won't appear immediately).

How Ritual leads to belief in the unbelievable

I can remember after 1975 and the end didn't come then. Many stopped coming to the meetings. There was much spinning work done by the wt then to keep a hold on those that still hung in there. Then, there was the changing of the generation meaning. Can't remember when that happened but it didn't effect me since I was just going along with everything they wrote or said. I think I was a pioneer then. When my husband left in 2001, there was the Dateline show about the abused children of witnesses by other witnesses. The spin on that was amazing. The next meeting there was a special letter read to everyone about how all the people on there were disfellowshipped. So, of course they could not be trusted with any real information about the wt. We all know from Silent Lambs that it was true now, don't we! I even told a few friends that I believed it happened. None, could dispute it. There were even stories from some friends about abuse they shared with me. That was a hard one to dismiss but I was on the way out then. There has been so many changes since I left that I can't even believe it. The magazine just for witnesses in good standing and one for the public for instance! I am so glad I am out and free of this mind numbing, messed up creepy place.
I loved your blog & will check it out again. Keep up the good threads until jwd is no more.

I had been looking at the org when I went to meetings like If I wasn't a member would I still want to join up with this group. I saw too many weird things happening. Then, the attack of the elders on my then husband came, then he thought he would be df'd and asked for a divorce. I didn't want to leave him and asked him to tell me everything he knew from Ray's books and other books. He told me and I was just amazed how fast you can feel the pain of the hope you thought you had, just leaving you. I was just like everyone else as it made me sick for days. Then, I started calling old bible students that I knew hadn't done anything. Told them not to get started again and run away. Some listened some just ignored my advice. Also, I called a few close friends to share my new things learned. Most did not want to hear it. Some told me when I was df'd they would still be my friend. Well, I am not df'd or was my ex, but none of them would talk to me again. I am waiting until some of them see the light. That might not happen but if it does I hope they will remember someone tried to warn them about the cult.
Thanks for your story Honesty.

I agree with just about everyone here. Living together can be a difficult thing to adjust to for some. Some people do have limits that need to be understood. Work with each other and it will be great but try to live the way you did before you were with each other, forget it! The love thing is the only way you can keep it going. Just remember when you get old and grey that once upon a time the love you had for that person was a wonderful feeling. Sometimes, it never goes away.
