Poor people.
They were the poster witness followers for so many years. Now that they can no longer serve the WTS they have found out the WTS has no use for them. They have been discarded.
So sad. At least they have each other.
i asked him what happened.
he said "him and his wife lived a full theocratic life for jehovah.
doing everything the organization and the traveling brothers told them to do, like work part time, regular pioneer, serve where the need is great.

i wanted to write my experience on how my husband helped me see the ttatt (the truth about the truth).
first, let me mention that he wrote his own experience a couple months ago under the name sanchy.

Welcome to the forum. So glad you and your husband are out together.
Enjoy the sweet air of freedom.
Now you will get to enjoy your little ones instead of trying to drag them around neighborhoods, and make them sit still in a Kingdom Hell.
almost a year ago i moved back to the dallas - fort worth area after spending 16 years in the northern california area.
the area i live in has several nearby parks and walkways and these areas have several "share a book" pods mounted on a pole spaced about 1/2 mile from one another.
people are encouraged to add books they no longer use to these pods and to take one if they are interested.. i have been diligent on removing watchtower publications from them and what has surprised me is how many old publications in pristine condition are added almost on a daily basis.
We got some new light out of them, when we put some in the fireplace
Ha! Love it!
When we left, I got a paper shredder to destroy all the litteratrash because I remembered reading in the Awake magazine about someone finding a magazine in the trash, reading it, and becoming a JW. I had to buy a second shredder after the first one burned out!
It was amazing how much room I had in closets when the magazines, bound volumes, book bags, and meeting clothes were gone.
Yes, it was kinda like hoarders.
l guess we all have our own reasons and thought it would give insight to others considering going to reconsider and not go.
Once the curtain has been pulled back, and you have seen the man controlling "The Great and Powerful Oz" (this is a reference to the wizard from The Wizard of Oz movie), you can no longer have the same awe and sense of wonder.
I could not view the memorial as having anything to do with really honoring Jesus. Instead, I would know of all the flip-flops in doctrine, the governing body member stating that "It would be presumptuous to state that we are the only ones that have God's approval," and the idiotic "overlapping generations" ploy to explain why the "new system" is not here yet.
To make the answer shorter, I could just say it would make me feel sick.
is someone in your congregation confused?
coming soon to the local congregations:.
anointification neutralizer100 suppositories.
since the memorial is coming up soon and its about time for me to go shopping for a new memorial ( aka easter) dress, i've realized what the memorial really is for us teenage girls, a beauty pageant!
the memorial is the day i spend painting my nails, curling my hair, and carefully applying makeup because my mother says i have to "represent jehovah" and look my best.
in reality its just to impress the newcomers and to compete with the other girls.
Years ago in Florida, in Jacksonville, when I first became a witness-guess it was in the 70's- the women would wear formal gowns to the memorial. I was flabbergasted. To them it seemed normal. I thought it was very showy. Too bad it didn't stumble me out at that time. It took 30 more years.
first week focuses on utilizing videos in combination with tracts.
for the wtbts, this is a low cost approach to placements and prosyletising.. .
second week focuses on those who are ill. this is somewhat surprising in that the subject was discussed recently in the wt study (dec 15 2015 edition - "jehovah will sustain you") considered at the end of february this year.. .
Thanks so much for your replies.
It has been over ten years since I have been to a meeting.
I am so thankful to be able to think for myself now and not try to keep up with all the changes.

only a few days ago i was walking around the house in a mindless wander thinking if i needed to seek professional help.
then i got the courage to seek the comfort of complete strangers on the internet and found a world of support here on this website.
thank you simon and whoever else has made this website possible.
