  How many TOTAL members are here on JWN?

  am i missing something?

  maybe i am not looking in the right spot, but i would like to know how many members are on here.. am i allowed to ask for the amount of"active" members?

  ha ha.. i would like to know though.. anyone?.

  New Guidelines for this Forum - Please take notes

  we do not want to give the impression they are rules, so we will use the term guidelines.

  How would you respond if a Witness tells you that you are "negative?"

  when i bring a subject up and then talk about old wt's or the blood fraction, i occasionally get that response.. yes, i know i can reply, "but i am telling you the truth.

  don't you want the truth?".

  but i am looking for something more subtle, something that can help a witness to get beyond their cognitive dissonance.. but without a standoff.

  i am in my early forties.

  grew up in the truth.

  i remember talks at the assemblies by the governing body in the 80's.

  Wow, the past 15 years you describe is exactly how I felt. I really felt that Armageddon would come because I WANTED IT TO.

  Raised in the truth. Became a Ministerial Servant, then went to the Ministerial Training School. Then was assigned as a missionary, became an elder there, then assigned to the circuit work. Came back to U.S., served as an elder.

  Started to see the real truth last year.

  I am still an active Witness.

  i was comforted to know that we have all come out stronger...and why.. compassion & empathy: having survived cultic abuse, you may be readier to empathize with someone else's grief.

  it's easy to see the difference between the care and concern our commenters show each other and the hurtful sarcasm so prevalent in the blogosphere.

  Wow, you made me feel good about myself. I really feel like a person, before I always felt bad about myself, no matter what privilege I had. I was supposed to view myself as a "good for nothing slave"

  I do have confidence, and I do have a better sense of purpose. Actually, I like all of them.

  We are happy to inform you of some rule changes on this forum. We do not want to give the impression they are rules, so we will use the term guidelines.

  At present, some are using this forum to express their own opinion. If you have been on this forum for less than 2 years, would it be the wise course to express your opinions? Wouldn’t it be a wiser course to allow those of us with more than 2 years experience to express our opinions?

  In this way, you who are new can learn! What a privilege that would be!

  And in addition, some are making posts and comments that are long. Would it not be the mature decision to limit our posts to 10 words or less? This shows maturity and humility on our part. Surely we do not think that we know better than the long-time posters? Sadly, some posters with less than a years experience on this forum have “jumped ahead” by expressing their own opinion.

  In future, we will ask two of our posters who have been members for more than 2 years to have an on-line chat with the offender. This is not to discourage them, but to help them to see the wrong course they are taking by expressing their own opinion or by typing more than 10 words. After meeting online with the offender, the two posters will make a determination whether this person can continue on this forum if he is “remorseful.” After that private online meeting, the two posters will inform us of their decision.

  If he is not remorseful, then he or she will be denied access to this forum. This is the loving thing to do.

  Let us all rejoice in these new arrangements for the benefit of JWN!

  Many are already rejoicing at the new provision in having us all share the same avatar, and all of us having a number instead of a username. This will no doubt promote unity.

  May we all do our utmost to support those with 2 years or more experience by accepting their opinions without questioning! This will show our love for this site, and for one another.

  Thanks for you comments. So its not my imagination. All over the world Witnesses are going through the same things.

  I hope the entire thing comes crashing down too.

  I forgot to mention another thing. Even with 100 people at the meeting on Sunday, hardly anyone comments. Used to be the conductor had to be on his toes to remember everyone who raised their hand. Not anymore.
