Minimus, the reason I don't talk like other C.O.'s you know is because you have never met me. The C.O.'s in this country are more "formal" in my experience.

here in the states, some jw's are really into this.
i am not talking about a valid lawsuit regarding an accident.
i am talking about multiple lawsuits.. we had one sister that had 3 lawsuits going on at any one time.

i think someone else mentioned this before, but i am interested in providing some practical help to those on this board.
many of you have helped me, and i see a lot of good will on here.. some here seem to need to move to another congregation to "fade.
" or they might be in a judicial situation.. can i help?
Here I am worried someone on here will OUT ME, and some on here think I will OUT THEM?

Good idea. I will give you the number if you PM me. Of course, don't ask directly if it is a JW apartment complex. But the manager is a long-time Witness, so say you are a Witness moving into the area, you can give my real name as a reference. And ask how many in the complex are Witnesses.

If anyone thinks I am a troll, you can PM me, I would hate to be victimized myself by a troll. So feel free to PM me, I will give you my phone number and we can chat. I have talked to a couple of people on this board. I am running a risk of being caught by the congregation, I know that.
Yes, I still live in that JW apartment complex. 90% Witnesses, 5% worldly people, 5% disfellowshipped.

Here in the States, some JW's are really into this. I am not talking about a valid lawsuit regarding an accident. I am talking about MULTIPLE LAWSUITS.
We had one sister that had 3 lawsuits going on at any one time. I don't know how she did it. One was an "accident" at work, one was a car accident, and one was at a supermarket where she "fell." She always drove a BRAND NEW Lexus, and NEVER WORKED. Then after a while, she would have another "accident."
Another couple I know did the same thing. They got a ton of money from two car accidents where they hurt their "back." But they still could snowboard fortunately. So they had all this money and bought a brand new car, super nice clothes, etc. He was, and is, an elder, and he would talk about "working hard secularly" to provide for his family. He used to say how important it is to pay bills on time. I tried to be a nice guy, but once I told him that's it's not too easy because I have to support myself, and I never got into an accident, so I don't get that free money. He never spoke to me again, other than to wave at a distance.
I don't want to come across as unfeeling, I know some have real accidents and are really in pain.
But I have seen others that show no signs of being in pain, they are running around, sports, dining, vacations, meanwhile they always seem to have lawsuits pending, and hardly do any secular work. Plus they try to imply they ARE HARD WORKERS. Drives me crazy.
Have you seen this?

just found this board late last night and can't stop reading, it's fascinating.. let me give you a quick background of myself.
i was born a jw, never baptized, was labeled bad association when i was 12 due to having all worldy friends and smoking, lol.
i was very confused how being that young i could be labelled as that but i was.
Sorry about your Grandmother. I agree with the other posters, check out the "Best Of" section. You will enjoy it.

honestly, i never believed in the chronology.
"no man knows the day or the hour" was pretty clear to me..
I believed it would come before the year 2000. I trusted the January 1, 1989 WT when it said the preaching work would be completed "before the end of this century." I kept that WT in my bookbag for a long time. Then they changed the wording.

elders are told they are appointed by holy spirit.
that means the supreme god of the universe used his force to appoint them over the flock.. that is a major big deal.. so when they get in that back room, and the body of elders meets, or they are on a judicial committee or shepherding or whatever, they think they are speaking for jehovah god himself.. do we realize what that means?
that means that when they feel something, or they are emotional about something, or they get mad at someone in that room, they feel that is holy spirit directing them.. they don't realize they are on their own.

They don't realize they are on their own. Those feelings that they have are not from God. I know, becaue I was one. I felt like that. I believed that when I had a FEELING about something, that was JEHOVAH GOD telling me something.
Of course, I did try to analyze myself to make sure I was following God's viewpoint through the Society.
But in general, THAT IS WHAT ELDERS BELIEVE.
So no wonder when you call them on something, or their opinion is wrong, it's not their fault, it's your fault. They are appointed by Holy Spirit.
How many elders realize they those opinions they have about people are just that, their opinion?
They don't, they think God is directing them.
What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree?
Bring it on.

so this morning was the public talk and wt study.
after, we did our usual and went to eat.
the group was mixed ages.
So this morning was the public talk and WT study. After, we did our usual and went to eat. The group was mixed ages. One of the sisters had the new WT in her hand. She said, "Hey Bonaifde, did you see the new WT?" I said I want to hear what you have to say, so let's order first." I wanted the whole group to hear this. I wasn't sure what she had in mind, but it could be good, right?
So while everyone is eating, I asked her about the WT. She pulled it out and started reading the new Questions from Readers about miscarriages. She is in her 50's, baptized about 30 years. Daughter and son both JW's, active. She had remembered that I had said a couple of months ago that I don't understand why miscarried babies don't get a resurrection. At that time she had said it's because they don't take the breath of life (The standard JW answer that I always gave also) And then I said, "Then why is abortion murder?" That got her kind of upset, but I had no idea she remembered months later.
So back to the present. She reads the Questions From Readers until she gets to this part: "So will those that are miscarried receive a resurrection? WE DO NOT KNOW." She put the WT down triumphantly, and said, "See, there it is."
So I said, "Ok, but why did the WT 25 years ago say there was no resurrection for them?"
She said, "I just read the WT. It says "WE DO NOT KNOW."
Me: "Right, so if the Society doesn't know, then why did they print the article 25 years ago saying no?"
Sister "Well, they are not inspired."
Me "So if they are not inspired, then why did they write the article?"
Sister "Well, that's what they thought at that time, but they were wrong, and now they are right."
Me "Then why was the WT wrong back then?"
Sister "Because they are not inspired." (At this point she is looking at the exit of the restaurant, no joke, again and again.)
Me: "But Jehovah doesn't change his mind"
Sister: "No he doesn't."
Me: "So why does the WT change?"
At that, another brother interrupted and said, "Ok Bonafide, why are you bringing this up?"
Me: "I didn't bring it up."
Brother: "Yes, but, well we have to be careful what we say about the Slave."
Me: "Yea, you're right, I know I am not supposed to ask questions."
Brother: "No, we can ask questions, just we have to be careful."
Me: "No we aren't supposed to. It's not right, I just get excited. I will try not to ask anything, I know we aren't supposed to."
Another sister in group, baptized one year: "Yes, we can ask questions."
Me: "No we can't. It's not right. We can get into trouble, I mean look how everyone is upset with me for asking a question, why? Because it's WRONG."
Same brother: "Look Bonafide, questions are OK. But like what kinds of questions, that's what we have to be careful of."
Me: "What questions?"
Same brother: "Just, like doubting questions"
Me: "Oh, ok, no doubting questions. I just feel sorry for the sisters that lost their baby, and the WT says they won't be resurrected, but now they say they don't know. I feel sorry for them. 25 years is a long time."
Older sister: "Well, I feel sorry for those sisters too, I feel bad for them."
Me: "Ok, everyone, I will be careful, I know I should just repeat what the WT says, but sometimes I get questions in my mind, and I know I shouldn't. Next time I will just read the paragraph."
Same brother: "No, I mean, yes it's good to have questions, not just repeat everything."
Me: "No, it's not good, I will work on that. Anyway, did anyone here see 'UP'?"
I wanted to write this down while it was still fresh in my mind. I know I might be getting a rep, and maybe worse, we will see. It's worth it to me. I really liked that the older sister REMEMBERED what I had said two months ago. Plus there were two younger ones in the group.
Your comments? What else could I have said, or how else could I have phrased my questions?
