The Marrieta congregation was really cool, btw. I stayed with an awesome pioneer couple and they were extremely generous. They probably dont totally remember me, but wow, what a cute wife ;)

Do you feel threatened by....
by Greensleeves indo people here feel threatened by bold posts?
i ask this because it would seem that everyone on this board has an axe to grind, and any "bold" posts that disagree with the majority are ignored.
i have found that most of the posts i made ended threads.

request from researcher: can you tell me where the information is at about salvation by works coming from pagan teachings?
the pastor at our church mentioned that when jehovah's witnesses go out in their preaching work because they are under watchtower "obligation," and don't preach out of a sincere desire or heart condition, then they are being deceived to "work" out their salvation which comes from pagan doctrines.

just because they sound somewhat alike, doesnt mean to ignore the context and meaning in society.
to "work something out" can have a myriad of meanings.

anyway, i think you are totally right.
people certainly have an axe to grind here, and it gets in the way of the "real" issues. I have noticed people ignored when opposing opinions, accused of "disrupting the flow of threads" being a "troll" and being disfellowshipped from this forum when it comes down to it.
Its an interesting place, but watch how you tread :) -

I was messing around, remembering how a song went on guitar, but then it morphed into something else, a derivative of another song i have, which has to do with my forced self destruction of the best relationship in my life besides the supposed one i had with Jehovah himself...

if you havent used your brain, thats totally your fault, no offense. Being a witness, i used my brain more than any other time of my life, it was a completely stimulating experience mentally and intellectually. I have taken what i have learned from there (and i was a pioneer in college then, and am still in college now admittedly with more free time ;) ) and have applied it in my life to my benefit, even though being disfellowshipped.
maybe you bought into the whole housewife thing, but that isnt just a witness thing. I know plenty of witness wives that are hardworking, intelligent, and are conducting business... -

I am not for war -- i am a conscientious objector --
however,
i do respect the people that have been brainwashed into thinking what they are doing is right -- and they are doing something completely selfless, imo - at least the ones that arent there to blow apart some AYrabs...
the only guy i know that has been in the armed services is completely messed up from what hes been through. Only 24 years old... on social security now, cant speak a sentence straight, twitching.
that doesnt bode well for my perception of things :( -

well, ive affected the prospects of learning the truth of the girl i slept with and dated, Ive affected her non-witness family's view of the truth, ive affected her witness family's spirituality, ive hurt the congregation ive been in, and i lied to my good friends about what was happening.
