See, I'm a thread killer.
I think I'll change me name.
randy/dogpatch has posted some interesting material about troubles in the organization.
this info generated a lot of skepticism about the possibility of watchtower fragmentation.
frankly, it is very easy to be skeptical considering everything that ordinary witnesses are willing to believe or put up with.. i think it would be useful to realistically consider what sort of event(s) would bring the watchtower down or cause its fragmentation?

I love these treads as well. My family would benefit in the long run if this thing would just colapse.
My two cents is, if you can get people in the main stream talking about JW's then it would help to expose their practices and perhaps help those who are in see it for what it really is. I.E. the South Park episode on Mormons was a riot and showed how crazy they are when you get down to the core beliefs.
Or if you could get a JW on a highly rated TV show and they stuck by a true to life script of a JW's life.
I also think billboards in JW strongholds would be a good idea as well.
We may be small but if we can mobilize like the Tea Party against the WTBTS then we may not bring them down but we could make some in-roads.
With no leader/head of a movement then there would be nobody for the WTBTS to bring suit against.
We are making great strides on the internet as well as message boards like this but there are thousands of older folks who don't get on the internet and they are the ones keeping the borgs ship afloat monetarily.
If someone does start something, shoot me a pm and I will give my email.

so got a voice mail from an elder today.
it has been 15 mos since i attended meetings.
he just said to call him back.
Go and confess your shocking sexual sins making him drop his bible many times over. That would make him give you a pass for another 15 months. Then he would back for more.
i just did a 'quick' search and 'marital due' doesn't appear to have made the 'list' of issues addressed in the ks!.
did i miss something?????
shouldn't the blantant repeated refusal (not justifiable under illness, ability, or discernable reason) be an issue addressed?.
Here is my 2 cents with a wife who is still in.
She says, "I can't be intimate with someone who doesn't love Jehovah."
I never said this but I thought it, Well what was the problem when I was in the borg?
I attribute it to what was said in some of these long posts.
The WTBTS puts sex in a bad light then calls it due like it is obligatory pay.
That adds to the defamation of sex. A person who had a problem with it becomes obsessed with their problem and just shuts down in that area opting not to worry about it.
The spouse, if they really care about their mate goes along with it HOPING things change.
Then one day the spouse with the intimacy problem just up and says I don't love you anymore.
Well of course you don't love me cause you won't talk to me and we don't share openness because of the resentment that we harbor for each other.
Yes, being in the WTBTS is certainly a healthy way to live.
Keep in mind to that you can't try each other out or if you were married a virgin you have no idea what you will like or not like. Then you marry someone because they are the only ones available in a small pool of individuals in your 10 county area.
She y'all next month.

i have heard this jw argument before which explains away some of the scriptures alluding to everyone going to heaven but i was on jwfacts, 144,000 section and saw that belief no where in there.
.

your request is being processed.... crystal cathedral bankruptcy: megachurch files for chapter 11 amy taxin | 10/18/10 09:11 pm | .
garden grove, calif. crystal cathedral, the megachurch birthplace of the televangelist show "hour of power," filed for bankruptcy monday in southern california after struggling to emerge from debt that exceeds $43 million.. in addition to a $36 million mortgage, the orange county-based church owes $7.5 million to several hundred vendors for services ranging from advertising to the use of live animals in easter and christmas services.. the church had been negotiating a repayment plan with vendors, but several filed lawsuits seeking quicker payment, which prompted a coalition formed by creditors to fall apart, church officials said.. "tough times never last, every storm comes to an end.
right now, people need to hear that message more than ever," sheila schuller coleman, the cathedral's senior pastor and daughter of the founder, told reporters outside the worship hall.. "everybody is hurting today.
If a church is tax exempt, should it be able to look to the federal government for protection?????
It would seem to me that there should be some negatives for being tax exempt, such as not being able to file bankruptcy due to the fact that taxes are not paid into the system which will basicly pay for the court proceedings that are created around such a legal proceeding.
Just a thought.
