  Bizarre comment about jw.org at SAD

  recently attended a sad.. bethel speaker was gushing about the wt's embrace of new technology, in the part of his talk warning about "apostate" web sites.. a loose summary of his comments:.

  "and the brothers at headquarters have made it very safe for you to go to our website.

  in fact, the brothers talked to the folks at google, and they made a special arrangement so that when you type in 'j w period' into the google search engine, it automatically shows you the jw.org website.

  It really doesn't matter if one wants to find JWN or JWR or JWFacts, etc... they can find us.

  The average person interested in JW's is going to type in "Jehovahs" or "Jehovah's Witness" and sites to counter the pro- side of the Watchtower are going to come up.

  What the Watchtower was trying to plant in JW's heads is that when you can't remember "JW.org" (I guess it is hard to remember for some) then you can type JW in your search bar for google, bing, etc.

  Pretty typical BS to play up the GB's ongoing and loving support for the "rank & file" witness.

  If you don't use JW in your search bar then it could be considered apostasy and you need to go to the elders for some encouragement.

  Blah! SMH.

  typically i check this site on my smart phone and cannot post one single letter, but i really enjoy reading your thoughts and experiences especially those that involve anti-witnessing or when jdubs come to your door, so keep them coming.. .

  lately, i have been serving as a duly elected public official in my home county in fl, and attempting to make up for lost time getting my college education.

  i am 3 years in, only have one year left, and i will officially be a registered nurse.

  Lately, I have been serving as a duly elected public official in my home county in FL, and attempting to make up for lost time getting my college education. I am 3 years in, only have one year left, and I will officially be a Registered Nurse.

  So like many of you my marriage went down the tubes because the wife could not get over the fact that she was married to an apostate or as she put it someone who doesn't love Jehovah(aka the Watchtower). So we are separating and working out the details in the divorce. Another family destroyed ala Watchtower.

  I am excited about the new beginning though and my two children are excited about now having their birthday and christmas celebrated as well as other holidays.

  I look forward to getting to meet some of you now and being more involved in the ex-JW community now that I can see some light at the end of the tunnel. Much love to you all!

  Euphemisms for cursing among JWs

  in an effort to show that they had put on a 'new' personality, many who joined the wtbts would adjust their speech patterns to avoid common expressions of cursing or profanity.

  yet there would still arise times when they would become frustrated, angry or disgusted at someone or at a situation, and wish to express their feelings.

  here are a couple of substitutes for cursing heard among jws ...... forget you.

  Undeclared changes to the 2013 NWT

  in the following from the 2013 edition of the nwt, the watchtower society indicates that when it released its initial 1950 edition, it considered the greek text provided by westcott and hort as its master text.

  as a result of these additional masters, the wts made some undeclared changes to the 2013 nwt.

  it does not list these changes or give any explanations.. greek text: in the late 19th century, scholars b. f. westcott and f.j.a.
