i heard the anti college talks at the dc this year, and while many people i know didnt agree with them, this following video stunned many of them.

there are many people on this forum, many have gotten to where they are many different ways.

especially considering how many people suffer from suicidal thoughts.

Reminds, me of pio skool. Where they talked about people who kill themselves, not getting a ressurection potentially. Made no sense. If the wage of sin is death. you both sin and pay the debt. anyway. stupid all round

We call "college" university in the UK.

We also leave school at 16 and have the option to go to a college for free for 2 years. To do a vocational course or A-levels (Academic tests that lead to university).

I think a law is being introduced that will make in mandatory for people to stay in education until there 18 soon.

Generally ive seen countless youths leave school and pioneer. From the ages 15 upwards, i have a few freinds now who struggle to get by who have pioneered for 6-8 years.

At the DC's ive been to, they generally encourage youths to do vocational course.Learn more practical skills so they can be used on the RBC and bethel. Loads just window clean.

A know a large number of brothers & sisters who have been to university. Most do find themselves ostrasizes for it...even though many are MS and pioneers. Generally living on campus is seen as a massive no no. it is generally assumed that "ones" that do this are immoral.

Its a shame, generally a lot university courses are expensive and u dont learn much. Another issues is that most students leave with massive amounts off debt.

That aside it does seem unusaully biased when in being Anti-higher education.

Guess there always promising we will live in a world without doctors!! maybe this is how it happens.

so i start thinking about all my "privileges.

" i went to mts, took 600 pages of notes, went to my assignment, i am still serving under the mts program.

for a few years until my circumstances changed.

Look your a unique position that many people never have to experiance. Your eyes are open, not only to things that might be difficult to understand within the society, but more importantly on the way the world works.

As witness you do learn that a lot of things are fake.

Im struggling with the same feelings. Deep down I know its wrong, but I still believe everything. Im still stuck in limbo.

while i know somethings wrong with the society i would never say all the beliefs are wrong. SOme are actually really good.

I think the hardest thing is when you stop believing in god. And dealing with it. As you know.. talking isnt exactly encourage.

they have part-time, crappy jobs - if that... what do you think?.

I pioneer for nearly 2 years. I was 18. I did 80 hours a month to get ahead with my hours in case of illness.

I workd at a crappy dead end job to support myself, working lates. getting up early, for the ministry. Knocking on endless doors. Every day was a nightmare, i was so shy. People endless putting you down when all you want to do is help them. "brothers" endlessly putting you down because you dont look happy.

From my pioneer school I think of at least 5-6 people who left months later.

Others went to onto thrive. Others troll on.

In my life ive seen more leave than join. Those who are join seem to be the weak & desparate.

wouldnt shock me if they cut the hours....as most people i know no way reach the commitment.

The End of Circuit Overseers

is indeed apparently nigh as another poster predicted along with the end of the weekly bs.

not sure when this should take place but i'm reliably informed by a family member that one of the uk's overseers was talking about it fairly recently.

reduced to weekend visits by an outside but local elder instead.. i have no further info..

Id like to know what source of this rumour is. To be honest i wouldnt even believe it, but ive heard on the bethelite grapevine that theres is some organizational changes. With the book group going, I could see this happening.

I feel bad for a few CO's i know, some have been on circuit for years. It would be really hard being dropped in the real world.

My PO is a multi millionaire and stand in CO so should interesting.

Witness fear of demons why?

during my ten year sojourn through the watchtower, i was always amazed at the witnesses fear and fascination with demons.

occasionally at gatherings, they would exchange "demon" stories, which were just a jw way of telling ghost stories, and you would usually hear a few "uhhs" and "oh my's" as the story was told.

although i had heard folks of other denominations mention demons, it was never with the "shock and awe" the witnesses put into it.

Classic experiances of this:

My room mate was insisting he was hearing people walk round the flat at night and that it was demons. His reason for raising the point was because he wanted to know if i brought anything into the house.

I jokingly told him "apart from a cursed monkey claw & all my voodoo stuff, no nothing new". he didnt find it funny and when onto to explain his encounter.

Turns out the DEMON. Was me, due to my medication im suvering with sleep walking and insomnia.

Classic.

Another being the TALE OF THE TALKING WARDROBE. YES. a talking wardbrode. that wouldnt burn.. scares me people belive this stuff. I wat sort of stylish demon would possess a wardrobe... "does my bum look big in this".
