Totally, You have this built in aversion to anything "worldly", your practically trained to exclude and judge people. Along with years of fear building, of course theres being isolated from the majority of the population. Making ones self to be an outcast and proud of it. Lets not forget the whole moral ambiguaty and being two faced, that all JW's seem to have maintaining their perfect facades.

Did you ever feel as if you were socially handicapped as a Witness?
by Hiddenwindow insome of my friends claim that growing up as witnesses was a normal experience, in the sense that they did not miss celebrating hollidays or associating with wordly people.
these friends are witnesses in good standing, therefore, i doubt their sincerity and feel that they just do not want to go agaist the party line.
in my case, since i always had the desire to participate in extracurricular activities in school (and did when i could), always felt actracted to politics and art, it was very hard.

The Sheer Boring Monotony Of Being A Jehovah's Witness
by minimus inwhat a terrible way of wasting valuable time.
going to meetings is the biggest scam.
you get nothing more from going than you would if you read a publication in the comfort of your home.

Its brilliant not going, especially after a childhood of being bored to death!
The annoucements always got me, especially resolutions. Which where a total farce, totally just going the motions. Dont even get me started on the accounts annoucement, time would actually stop.
The thing that I nver understood is the "discussions" / "question and answer" where by nothing is discussed at all. Merely recited in a fashion that resembles discussion, only to be clearly not when the speaker denouces a brother & sister for being wrong!
The best one is when a speaker has a certain point mind, and asks about it. Usually consisting of ten minutes of people aimlessing stabbing at it, until the hit the right word. Where everyone "sighs, thats it! its written there"
Plus Illustrations suck, they are overused. greatly. Almost insultingly. Usually describing very simple concepts in complicated fashion. So you spend ages figuring out what exactly the person was trying to say!
Before & after is no better, just a bunch off false facade's and cliques. -

The WT Says: Young women should be like like cows (sex advice)
by inkling insorry if this has allready been talked about, but does anyone remember running across this gem from a 1961 wt?.
--- how can girls guard against temptation in this sex-crazy world?.
when a girl reaches the age of puberty or physical maturity, her body has developed in the matter of sex more than in the mind.

Help Them Return Without Delay
Is a lot more hardline. A lot stricter view.. almost a total switch of tone from the earlier article.
Seems a lot emphasis on reminding inactive ones they have abandoned jesus/jehovah/
Touches on sins etc... that if a brother / sister finds out they are sinning that they should tell elder etc..
TO be honest nothing unusual, just seems to be the normal line. On one hand it likens inactive ones to lost sheep and then next as the to disciples who denied jesus.
It does seem to accuse the inactive ones, seems quite negative...
But nothing new. -

bazaarest new program on english TV on Christianity
by reniaa ini have seen a few from other countries but this one had me going huh!!!.
http://www.channel4.com/video/make-me-a-christian/catchup.html.
reverend george hargreaves and his team continue with the group of volunteers from leeds and teach them a more 'christian' way of life in the hope it can halt the country's moral decline.. it's a group of 4 church clergy, from different christian faiths getting together to teach a group of random non-christians about god, it's format is very much like one of these makover programs were you get a team of experts to makover someone or there house, .

It is mentle this program. They basically got a bunch of peeps and just tell them they are sinners... its just so shallow makes the church look stupid.

if a dog bites you, you put it down.

Its removing the problem not treating or judging it.
