My JW family, while growing up, had one day of giving gifts every year
That was something we as kids appreciated.
But other wise I think that's just something JW says to cover up their behavior....

They "can give gifts on any day of the year"... But do they?
by Albert Einstein inhow many times we had heard from jw (commenting on christmass, mothers day or bithdays) "they dont need a pecial day set to give gifts, because the can give it on any day" .... but whats your experience if you compare jw and non jw ... are they really giving?.
my sons (7) example:.
he has non jw grandparents: gets all kinds of gifts all the time, sweets, magazines, toys,.

the girl is bpd (borderline personality disorder) and so she technically is mentally ill - but it makes her a terribly vindictive and hateful person.

Hello from me!
by Gonefullcircle inhello everyone.. after many months of lurking through my the worst time in my life and then not reading any posts since the website changed hands, i just wanted to say hello!.
all the stalwarts on here helped me so much through the worst times (born in, left when i was 34) i was too emotional to ever comment, but now i am ready to help others start to rebuild their worlds.. i just want to give all those doubters of that religion hope and help now that i have gone full circle- hence my user name.
there is lots to say, but i will join in and you will get to know me.. for anyone that is in turmoil with worry over whether to leave or not, i can empathise, but it will be the best decision you ever make!.

I was also born in and left last year at 34y old...unfortunately had to leave my husband at same time who's still in but we had other problems as well. I'm happy you and your husband has managed to stick together.
This has been the best time in my llife!!!!!
I finally know what freedom and happiness is and so will you. It's wonderful to be among so many friends here.
Best of luck and I look forward to hearing more from you...

so much happier since leaving!
by starbox120862 ini was loosely allied with the jws thru my teens after my mum studied with them, finally getting baptized at 30. no one else in my family went, my mum had stopped, i used to hang around on the edge at meetings,mainly ignored.once an elder came over and reproved me for having a little coloured sticker on my bible to distinguish it from all the other identical ones.
once a sister offered to give me a lift out on the work, then another sister, an elders wife, came and said i couldnt go because her daughter needed the lift.
theres a lot more, it was totally a clique.

in fact, my birthday gift to Toni was a BrewStation... I set up the coffemaker the night before and set the timer for 10 minutes before she has to get up for work

Blondie, point taken, coffee has more or less become science these days....but same as for QL, over here "amercian coffee" means just a regular cup of black bruied coffee.
Towaeds the bottom, it gets crunchy.
