Sad to say that it is a real cover as yknot has already pointed out.

If you want some more confirmation you can go to the Watchtowers site at www.watchtower.org

and see for yourself under downloads. You will see the image of covers for both the public edition(this one) and the

congregation's one(private) for the month of August. (other ones/months are there as well, not just these)

After a certain amount of time they will take these down to make room for Sept. and other months coming up, so

if you want to check may want to do it before too much time lapses.

many of us are aware of the stroke that raymond franz had yesterday,.

that he is on life support and it doesn't look like he is going to pull through.. someone on another thread mentioned if he didn't survive how many.

was planning on attending his funeral.. to me this deserves its own thread.. .

Mad Sweeney I was kinda disappointed as well when I first heard about the arrangements to be honest.

Because of all the talk when I was raised in the Org about those who leave wind up either being alone or dying alone.

I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to show others how untrue those words were.

But after thinking about Ray's life and how he didn't want to draw followers to himself, or give others any reason

to objectify or point to him as some sort of leader, I guess this was the best way to handle it.

He evidently had thought it through beforehand and didn't want to give any impression that he was anything more than

a follower of Christ.

So even in death he has made my respect for him grow a little more.

BANE- the cause of distress,death, or ruin (one definition in websters)

You guys/gals know that he/she picked that handle for a reason. This is more than likely a teenager that can't hold his/her

own in a debate because there's absolutely no substance to their remarks. The most BANE can get out is I've heard it all

before blah blah blah. It would be nice to see some bite behind that bark but alas I feel this is going to be another one

of those hit and run type trolls that try for their 15 minutes of fame on a forum just to try to stir things up and then leave

after it has been evidenced how shallow their cognitive skills and reasoning ability truly are.

But just so he doesn't hi-jack this thread lets get it back on subject. Read the title of thread.

I'm currently an inactive J.W. in process of fading for families sake but to be honest I'd rather just tell them thanks but no thanks.

If push ever comes to shove, I'd DA before I'd let them DF me. Like at a job I'd quit long before giving them the satisfaction of firing me.

Just the fact of you being here is a testament in itself. I hope to hear more about your J.W. life in the near future.

You will hear much here. Some you will maybe agree with and some you will not. But one things for sure...you can't unring a bell.

Ray Franz Tribute

over at freeminds we didn't want this day to pass without some recognition of the life and death of ray franz.

in view of his stated wishes not to have a memorial or service we hoped for something that he would have liked for all of us to take a moment over.. .

we owe a note of thanks to v for his graphics work and atjeff for the obituary writing - i know neither of them need mentioned by me.. .

Very well worded,written and put together.

It doesn't put Ray on a pedastal (which he wouldn't want)

and yet it gives him the honor and respect that he is due for all his hard work freeing so many minds from human bondage.

Oh and welcome to JWN Thetis. I see this is your first post. Hope to hear more about and from you in the future.

it is confirmed that cynthia will be signing the papers this morning to remove ray from life support.

if anyone has posted their address on the internet, it is requested that you remove it for the safety of cynthia and those who are with her.

Silly things I wondered as a kid

if god is like a loving father why did he set up a way for adam and eve to possibly fail by putting the "magic tree" in the garden?

if my dad sabotaged his kids this way or felt the need to test our love him he'd be considered an abusive father.. when god put an angel with a spinning sword in front of the entrance to the garden why didn't a&e walk a few miles down from there and climb over the wall ?

was there a wall ?.

According to the WT the nephilim was the offspring of the disobedient angels(demons) and women.

1.Why did they not just simply materialize new bodies after the flood that destroyed their offspring and have more

offspring with the women that came later?

2. If angels are neither male nor female, but are gender neutral, then why did none of the angels make female bodies

and have relations with the males? ( I always wondered this one as a kid)

3. If the demons are really behind things such as homosexuality, then why did none of them create male

bodies to lay with the males or female bodies to lay with the females? (Inquiring minds want to know)

Scarred if he is indeed brain dead already as another thread was alluding too, then I'm for sure going to be

planning on going. I'm just assuming it will be in either Georgia or Alabama and if so I could make either of those.

But there is always the possiblity that he may have some sort of burial plots wherever his family (Franz) was originally

from. If the latter is the case then I probably wouldn't be able to make it .

Does anyone know where his uncle Fred Franz was buried?
