  i stumbled on to this forum about a month ago...and i'm hooked!!

  a tremendous amount of knowledge, wisdom, great debate, and lol humor, which is good for the soul.. i am not a jw, but the borg infected my family years ago, many are still trapped, and i have 2 big shot elders.. i became a huge opposer/apostate and had many a battle.

  today we have learned to live in peace...live and let live.. recently, i decided to get up to date with everything jw... i often wonder why my family can't see or figure out the real truth.

  This is sickening and disturbing to think that American soldiers did this.

  when i first read over this on msnbc news today, it was truly morbid of just one soldier to do something like this.. but to think that 12 are being implicated tells you how truly sick a lot in the u.s. forces are.. what is the difference between what they did and what hitlers soldiers did?.

  Update on my JC hearing...received the expected news

  in case anyone's interested but unaware of my family's case up to this point, here's the original thread:.

  SBCheezits I just want to say I'm proud of both you and your wife for taking this stand.

  It's never easy and thats just the way the WTBTS wants it. They want to make it as tough on people as they can to discourage any others from daring to question their authority. It will take some getting used to as far as dealing with your mom and M-I-L since they still in and under the control of the GB.

  When I was younger I went through the JC and got DF. The main difference between yours and mine other than what it was for is that at the time I got DF I was still a believer in the WackyTower. I went through much mental anguish with the ordeal at that time not only because of still believing but also was young and couldn't talk to most of my family that were J.W.'s

  I wish when it happened to me way back then I'd known it was all hogwash as you do now. Woulda made my life back then a lot easier and more fulfilling. Needless to say I got reinstated after many months all the while still thinknig it was Jah's Org.

  Many years passed and then I started to see it for what it really was, just another man-made religion claiming they were the only true way to God.

  As of right now I'm considered inactive/spiritually weak (their words not mine) but to the ones on here the word would be fader. But I've already had in last 6 months over 3 visits from the Elders just dropping by.(checking up on me is more like it) I'm always nice as long as they are and love being at home when talking to them because at my house I set the tone/tempo. But I got the feeling I got a big bullseye on me like a target and they're just waiting on me to mess up. If it wasn't for my family that is still in I'd done told them I DA.

  But in all seriousness if I was to get DF I could care less at this point. Like you, I've already gotten my wife and son out, and I've helped two of my sisters see the "light" and they're out now. Working on a few more as discreetly as I can and testing the waters with them on their feelings on some matters. But I know the day will come when the jig will be up. And it will be time for me to tell them I'm out and won't be coming back again.

  sooner7nc thanks for that Winston Churchill quote. Some people may have read that and thought it was Islamic Extremist that said that if you hadn't put the name at the end.

  And on that link you provided to the guardian.co.uk shows even how bad the Brits soldiers where treating some of the Iraqi's.

  Why do we seem to be the only ones who have to follow the Geneva Convention?

  Why are we the ones invading other countries? Remember how we were originally suppose to be in Iraq because of those weapons of mass destruction? Then it turned out they had none. No WMD's. So what does the U.S. do?

  They try to justify. Not say we were wrong. But say oh well they had a cruel dictator in Sadam Hussein. He needed out anyways.

  And follow the Geneva Convention my ass. Do you really need me to go all way back to the days of ole General Custer and his last stand and show how long a history this nation has on atrocities of everyone else. Or how bout that dropping those two Atom bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima.. A lot of dead innocent women and children in those cities that never had anything to do with the war. But oh ya we're different...RIGHT!!

  i should point out that the first almost 3 minutes is dedicated to the repubs...for some reason they only gave the dems a little over a minute.

  I just noticed after reading over the article again that this Morlock soldier that is accused of some of the worst atrocities is from Wasilla,Alaska.

  I wonder if Sarah Palin knew of him since she was on the city Council in Wasilla.

  If she did know him or his family, I'd be interested to hear her thoughts on this.

  This is the reality of war, however. These guys are not doing anything that hasn't been done before. Every major war is going to have soliders that degenerate into these practices. It really shouldn't surprise us when these things happen.

  brotherdan couldn't this argument be made from every side though. Even Hitlers guys coulda said oh well it's just war. Shit happens.

  I know as long as it bothers me, that I'm still human. I fear the day I just accept it. Then I guess I'd be like these guys without human compassion.

  Plus you saw what a stink was made over if that preacher down in Fla. had burned those Quran's. That it would only help the terrorist recruit more.

  I'd say this will do a lot for their cause over there in getting more to fight the American regime.
