the dog was in a rta and as i was eating my dinner and couldn't see the pictures, heading or comments regarding the dog properly i posted that it could be ''dog bait injuries''... which in the area i live is a nasty problem which is rearing it's ugly head.

She prayed for me.... and I spent the afternoon puking my guts out

i recently did a favour for one of my co-workers by exchanging a shift with her so she could have a day off when she needed it for a family event.. we worked together last night, and she was so excited about the family event that happened a couple of days ago - she really appreciated being able to go.

so this morning, at the end of our shift, she tells me that she is going to church before she goes home to sleep, and she is going to pray for me to have many good things from god for doing this favour for her.. i'm flattered that she thinks it was such a big deal, but i told her "no really, that is not necessary... you really don't have to pray for me!

" she was insistent!!

hmmmm come to think of it...ask her if she takes requests for prayers.

There's a couple brothers from my old hall I'd like her to pray for and hopefully with the same results.

Does anyone recognize the Bethel Elder voice in this short video-audio clip who supposedly went on a shepherding call with a Governoring Body member?

this is most definitely a pro-jw clip from an elder that is being circulated amongst the local congregations near where i'm at.. it's funny how a lot of the things that have been discussed on here have been included in this in some form or fashion but totally revamped to make it slanted to show the governoring body in a more positive light.

such as them not just being a group of men that meet around a table etc.. the voice seems familiar to me and yet i just can't place it.. the link to this clip was shared by some of my more distant extended family members who are still very much in and support the org.

completely.. after hearing this 6 minute clip it still gives me pause to think that just 5 or so years ago, i too would have been one of those listening to this and taking it to heart just because it came from the platform.. makes me even more thankful for each and every day my family and i are no longer slaves to a publishing company.. if you get a chance to view some of the comments on the main page that this is taken from, it's sad to see how many are still under thought/mind control.. anyways if someone does recognize who's voice this is please leave their name on a comment or pm it to me.. it is bugging me because it seems like i should know this elder but can't place him at the moment.. here is the link to the vid/audio:.

BoC yes that thought about how hard they worked every Wednesday almost made me want to laugh.

Most people I know would love to just work to past 5:00 one day a week. (And yet they seem to want praise for this)

The more I listened to this clip the more I'm starting to believe that maybe some from Bethel are really snooping on these sites such as this one and trying to put a positive spin to some of the things the rank-and-file publishers may hear from family or workmates that may hear the information on these sites.

Edited to add: After I went back and looked over the comments on that page, someone mentioned that the speaker was Mozell Mack. If this is true then It's not someone I knew because I don't remember that name. Anyone else know of him ?

How long into the future do you feel it will take before the majority of mankind give up on "God" to solve their problems?

i mean the above question out of sincerity and honesty and not trying to belittle anyones beliefs or lack there of.. my point is if armageddon don't happen or the rapture within the next 1000 years or so, how long will man keep holding out hope for a divine being, whether it be jesus, jehovah, allah or "fill in the blank" to come and solve all the problems?.

do you feel that there is a timetable of any sort?.

if god hasn't manifested himself/herself/itself in say 5000 years from now to all mankind, do you think the majority at that time will still be clinging to a belief in a higher power if nothing at all has changed as far as their "appearing,coming, calling us to them etc."?.

In history we can read where others really "believed" in Thor,Zeus,Odin,Ra, Isis etc. Even to the point of willing to die in their name.

Now we may find that laughable or scoff or even ridicule their beliefs but it "evidently" took less than 7000 years for the majority of mankind to lose faith,trust,belief in them.

So what say you? What do you feel would be an appropriate timeframe "if" nothing happens that humans would come to the conclusion that no matter how we got here, that we're on our own?

A good argument well won

i've not been to the kh or remained in contact with my ex jw "freinds" for a number of years now.

DD10 quoting something you said in your opening post I'll show you a easier way to blow that argument completely out of the water.

DD10 said,

If this is so, then why did God interfere with man when he was ruling himself and accomplishing great things at the Tower of Babel?

Even in the New World Translation (JW's bible) look how it is worded at Genesis 11:5-9

"And Jehovah proceeded to go down to see the city and the tower that the sons of men had built. 6 After that Jehovah said: “Look! They are one people and there is one language for them all, and this is what they start to do. Why, now there is nothing that they may have in mind to do that will be unattainable for them. 7 Come now! Let us go down and there confuse their language that they may not listen to one another’s language.” 8 Accordingly Jehovah scattered them from there over all the surface of the earth, and they gradually left off building the city. 9 That is why its name was called Ba′bel, because there Jehovah had confused the language of all the earth, and Jehovah had scattered them from there over all the surface of the earth."

Notice how it doesn't say they were fighting or starving or anything else that would reflect bad on them as a people. They "evidently" were working together as one people and united in a common cause. So God went down there and confused their language so that they wouldn't be able to attain everything else. Notice how it even says, there is nothing that is unattainable for them.

Ask any JW why God interfered here if the issue was to see if they could rule themselves.

So it seems that men were governing themselves pretty good at this particular time. And God did intervene if this scripture is true and accurate.

Edited to add: And welcome to the forum. Enjoyed your first post and like your line of reasoning in it about all the test and how many more times are we going to be tested because of a supposed argument in heaven. Hope to hear much more from you in the future.
