  Tonight I celebrate a personal milestone...my 1000 post. Now the big decision...chocolate or extra alcohol or both

  yeah i know its taken me almost 5 years to reach 1000 post and many of you get that in a few months.. but i do take long extended breaks from the forums (especially in summer months for sun an fun).. i've seen where others had made a thread on celebrating this particular point of being a member on here and thoguht well that sounds fun so i will too.. plus considering how close we are to the "end of this present wicked system of things", and that it was going to happen any day now, and right around the corner, i figured i'd not make it long enough to hit 1000 post.

  lol.

  anyways hope this post finds all of you out there in good health, with plenty of wealth and enjoying your life to its fullest.

  Captain Obvious,

  I'm just having some Evan Williams whiskey mixed with a little Cola at the moment. Nothing too exciting, but hey it works.

  Evan and Jack Daniels have both helped me through some tough times in life. (Who needs pills when a little alcohol in moderation works wonders?)

  Anyways I've searched my house through looking for some of those dark chocolate bars my wife usually gets us. They have the almonds and cherries blended in with them and they are so good with any type of drink.

  But Alas there's not even one to be found. :(

  Guess tonight I'll make do with a little Evan and maybe snack on some sea salted chips.

  "Millions Now Living Will Never Die," Predicted the Watctower before 1914.

  predicted the watctower falsely predicted before 1914 that,"millions now living will never die" before 1914. its now a year before we hit 100 years mark.

  was god's or god's holy spirit guiding them when they falsely predicted that prophesy?

  what is your reaction or perspective on this big lie?.

  Yes but look at the date on that WT. It's from 1984.

  But getting back to original thread topic can anyone show info where they said what is claimed before 1914.

  My point is, it would be just as wrong for us to falsely accuse them of saying something at a certain time that never was said.

  I'm not disputing that they made this claim, only the timing of it being made.

  Could you provide a link or give me your references to where the WT society said "Millions now living will never die" in their publications before 1914.

  The only ones I've seen are from Judge Rutherfords time which is after 1914 when he said it. (and I 've seen plenty of those)

  The reason I ask is it caught my interest why it stated in thread topic before 1914. I've seen the ones from the 1920's and later but not from before 1914.

  Appealing a disfellowshipping - any experience

  anyone had any experience of a successful appeal against a disfellowship?

  a friend of mine feels he has been dfd unjustifiably & is considering an appeal.

  he probably has something of a case - the jc was a total shambles - but i'm very dubious that he has any likelihood of success.. my only experience of a successful appeal is when elders in a neighbouring congregation were appointed by the co & overturned a df in our congregation a few years ago.

  when i first started posting again, i got a pm from lv101.

  she and i both live in las vegas.

  we have talked on the 'phone a few times, but today, we finally met for lunch.

  Sounds like you had a great time!

  It is always so good to hear about experiences like this because it shows that life truly does go on after leaving the JW's.

  I've had some very good times and enjoyable meals with many ex-JW's and never once had a bad experience yet.

  As of right now I've only met two in real life off this site and had a meal with them but I'm hoping to add many more in the near future from here.

  The majority of ex'JW's I've dined with are ones I already knew in some fashion from surrounding congregations that had left either before me or around the same time. Even now I'm amazed at how many from my area left but most are afraid to post on exJW sites because of having a lot of family still in and don't want to chance being outted. But we still have so much fun when getting together and talking about the ole days of being in the Org.

  so my husband (who was never a jw) saw a christian bumper sticker today and asked me if the witnesses have any.

  i said no (not that i know of anyway) so here are a few he came up with.. 'honk if you're a zombie'.
