I've got mixed feelings about this because I used to think it had no positive impact of helping any that are in to leave.
Then I watched the following newscast from Canada and most (not all) of the ones featured have did some form of Hall crash and got their name and cause known and in this sense it got word out to the general public about what was happening. So even if it don't help any that are currently in the Org maybe just maybe all this being in the news will prevent other people from even giving the J.W.'s the time of day and keeping any new ones from joining. Notice in the clip that some of it actually shows some Hall crashes that were recorded and broadcast for many outsiders to see.
Odds are if they had remained silent the News agency would not even bothered to do a segment on Jehovah's Witnesses.
So I do think there can be a time and place for different types of strategies to work and help and then in other extreme cases to cause more harm than good.
For any that hasn't seen the CTV W5 Newscast from a couple months ago I'll link it below from their own youtube site.

I Ain't Got No Religion No More ... (But I Like to Get Myself Some Gospel Music)
by Simon ini love gospel music.
i don't feel like i need to believe in "jebus" to appreciate the music.
i can't go into a gospel church because i might just get religion again - that or i'll be grabbing the mic on be on the stage waving my hands and praising the lord.. i particularly like dylan's gospel period.

Think about it....one of the greatest songs of all time was a "religious" connotation about what the bible said from dust you are and to dust you will return.
Que the band and sing it Kansas "Dust in the wind"

I really liked it because it showed what personal, imposing, stupid and irritating questions that Elders can and will ask during a Judicial Committee.
Also him going to the convention and having a part/demonstration at it was so realistic and true to form for back then in 1983.
I give this movie 2 thumbs up for daring to go where no one has had the balls to go before in public and talking about stuff that many have issues with or embarrassment to admit that they either did or know someone that did.
The Sears catalog in the movie made me chuckle because it made me think of another "brother" (JW) that I knew that seemed to like those Catalogs undergarments section a bit too much.
Here is a 1 minute short vid of the man behind the book and movie himself if anyone wants to know how he feels about being raised a JW.

Only Jehovah's Witnesses
by Vanderhoven7 inwhat do you think of this rant?.
“jehovah's witnesses are the only true religion.
this is demonstrated by a slew of true teachings that only jehovah could have revealed to his servants on earth.

Only Jehovah's Witneses will tell you how important using Jah's name is and to always vindicate it,sanctify it and praise it only to have a brochure called "The Divine Name" that admits in it that no one knows the correct spelling or pronunciation and that Jehovah was just a name that had been "agreed" upon by a group of men.
(Or most widely used form not necessarily the correct form).
Only Jehovah's Witnesses will tell you how important it is to not personally bring reproach on Jehovah's name and yet "evidently" see no problem with their organization bringing heaps of reproach on that name by saying they are Jehovah's mouthpiece on Earth, all the while their countless predictions/prophecies/speculations have proven false time after time.
Only Jehovah's Witnesses, to keep from admitting they were wrong/mistaken/erring will change the definition of a word such as "Generation" to try and justify their failed prophecy. -

JW Good News is merely B.S. Bad News demonstrably wrong (Here is the proof)
by TerryWalstrom inscare tactics generating fear of the end is the core message of jehovah's witnesses.predictions based on so-called bible prophecy is their mother's milk.
"critical times hard to deal with" flavors every book, article, pamphlet and conversation spoken by dub on the doorstep.indeed, all we hear anywhere seems to be bad news.
are jw's right?can this be put to the test?

I find it odd that under the subheading
FACTS and EVIDENCE things are getting better and better
that the info in number 7 doesn't add up. Read it slowly and then think how many people are on the earth and then try and correlate that with 91%
"7. Since 1990, 2.6 Billion people have access to clean water. That's 91% of the world."
Now if it would have said 2.6 Billion "more" people that would have been more believable. -

Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Baker Who Refused to Bake Cake for Gay Couple
by Simon inseems like such an obviously correct decision to overturn the previous overreach - it should never have been necessary to go to the supreme court but happened because the rights of the religious were being ignored.. as the fundamental level, no one should be able to compel you to work for them or to provide services that go against your beliefs, and certainly not have the government be able to force you to comply.. if this was allowed there would be so many unreconcilable situations that would clog up courts over nonsense.. i also have little patience for these activists that intentionally look to be offended.
it really doesn't do their cause any good to go round looking to make trouble for people.
it's also misguided because it ends up strengthening religious rights over effectively stupid issues.. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/04/us/politics/supreme-court-sides-with-baker-who-turned-away-gay-couple.html.

Oh it's not a crime to use another name ...I mean heck do you think StoneWall is my real name. The point I'm making is that he has used many alias names if you do a google check and has even used names relating to famous celebrities at various times.(Seemed like to further his agenda at the time or attract a specific crowd/audience)
Be that as it may, his real name is already out there and once it's on the internet as we all know any attempts of protecting his family is going to be much harder.
I just feel in being honest the articles should be similarly written as many magazines (even the WT at times) by saying something like Tommy Robinson (not his real name but for his protection an alias) would add much more credibility to the article. -

You do realize that his name isn't Tommy(or Tommie) Robinson I hope.
I hear a lot of blasting going on about the Leftist views but found this article in the Guardian about the far rights views interesting as well.
I think both sides have some valid points but as always neither are giving the full picture or conveniently leaving out a few parts here and there if it furthers their agendas.

A song about us and for us Ex-JW's that has lyrics we can all relate to
by StoneWall ini've known many talented witnesses and ex-jw's that could compose music, write novels, paint portraits etc.
but i think this is the best art-form(music,songwriting and composing) that i have personally seen/heard so far that puts what so many of us have experienced and endured into words.i used to listen to r.e.m.
's song "losing my religion" and think how great it would be if someday an ex-jw could do a song that would apply even more to us.
