i find it very difficult to believe that god -- a god of love -- would refuse to resurrect an animal that we had become so attached to.
over the years i have bonded with no less than four (4) dogs, all of which were/are like family to me.
Pets really do form a bond with you that hurts when it gets broken.
A "scriptural" answer only creates more questions. Humans "inherited imperfection from Adam and Eve." That's why we die, supposedly. But why do the animals die?

i remember when i was a kid in the early 70s that we always had a baseball game or picnic where they would get together and bring a dish to pass.
every summer there was one or more.
we had canoe picnic parties and camp fires ect.
One of the elder's wives here absolutely lives for the congregation get-together. She puts together themes and exhibitions and assigns dishes to be made, etc.
Maybe I'm socially challenged, but it always seemed strained and forced.
Even so, I don't have much of a social life now, other than enjoying the company of people who I work with. Those congregation parties had their place for those who must have "a life."
I think the WT has suggested that the r&f have guilt about enjoying larger gatherings. Personally, I prefer intimacy.

i now have a 9 year old that has been visiting her biological grandmother and my ex-wife.
it is my child because i adopted her.
Nine years old is old enough for your daughter to know it when she hears it and express her own views, which I hope you are helping her to have. A nine year old can say things like "I have friends at school who are (fill in the blank) and I think they are very nice."
Bigots are pretty shallow people and a child that is actually thinking can be a powerful thing.
