has anyone ever heard anything wrong with having a honeymoon baby??.
just wanted to ask as i was told by an elder two weeks before i married "dont you dare have a honeymoon baby"......
That elder should mind his own damn business!! Oooh that would make me so mad - I would get pregnant just to see his stupid face when I told him!
In hindsight I wish we had concieved on our honeymoon, rather than waiting until my mid 30's. We have a beautiful daughter now but I have fertility issues, plus multiple miscarriages before we got her and even now.
Just do it when you're both good and ready...but don't leave it too late. xx

I like you was born and raised a JW. My mum and 3 sisters. nephews and niceces are still in. Me and my JW husband faded nearly 3 years ago - for different reasons - mine were, UN scandal. false prophcies, lack of love mainly. My husband began questioning things a couple of years before me and I used to get really annoyed with him, missing meetings and fs, not mixing with the bros and sisters, making sarcastic comments about the org - to the point that I worried he was turning apostate and I would have to speak to the elders about it.
Fortunately for us both, I began to listen to him and found that I couldn't argue against his well reasearched comments and objections - and that's what got me questioning and finding things out for myself.
Since our fade, my sisters have slowly stopped speaking and communicating with us. Thankfully my mum still talks to us and treats us just the same, I'm so grateful for that.
There is hope for your wife. My advice is little by little, slowly ask her questions about the lack of love, false prophecies etc. Maybe do it on the pretense of 'bible study'. Sit there sorrounded by the Societies lierature and say 'hey did you realise the GB used to say this or that....'

so it was time for the 25 year reunion of tawas area high school's class of '84.
because i was class president, i've been responsible for throwing all the reunions we've held.
while i come to michigan on business a few times per year, i don't usually make it all the way up to the little, northeast, lake huron tourist town where they live.
A truly moving account. Your actions and those of your beautiful wife showed real christ-like qualities - something sadly lacking amongst many JW's.
After reading this I was intrigued to know how your journey of discovery came to be, so I looked up your life story - Wonderfully written and absolutely captivating.

even though i didnt have the title of elder, i was still active in my work at bethel and the congregation used me as much as possible.
when the congregation recommended that i once again serve as an elder, one elder raised the objection that that barbara was a low-hour publisher.

i really don't have much of a story to tell about myself.
just find myself at a crossroads of sorts and wondering if i should stay or move on, although the greater part is telling me to move on.. long story short, i have been a baptised jw for 14 years.

Being at the crossroads can be a very difficult and confusing time - which in my case can may last for months. You are definetely making the right decision leaving JW's , and the more research you do on their double standards, false prophecies and doctrines etc, you will certainly realise this.
I decided to fade nearly 2 years ago but still have most of my family in the org, which makes things even more complicated. I've also had to leave a lot of friends behind.
