  Prisoners of the WT cult

  i wanted to research more on cults and the mind control techniques they use.

  if i had any doubts (which i haven't) that the wt uses these highly sophicated techniques, then i certainly wouldn't now!!!!!!.

  as we have had a thread asking why people don't leave the wt when they know that it has major flaws, i thought it would be beneficial to explore how powerful these methods of control are.

  I'd imagine Spider-Man wins the contest.

  • Big strength advantage. Spidey lifts approx. 10 tons while Batman is limited to regular human levels of strength, albeit of one in top physical condition.

  • Reflexes. Spider-Man enjoys the speed associated with superhuman reflexes, and again, Batman is limited to what is normal for a well-trained human. On this note, I'd give Batman the edge in knowledge of martial arts, given his experience and background, but I don't think that can offset the physical edge Spidey enjoys in being able to hit and not get hit in return.

  • Spider-sense. Protects Spider-Man from being blindsided, which is the one thing Batman excels at. Even if Spidey was consciously unaware that an adversary is close and about to strike, the Spider-sense kicks in and causes him to react, even when he doesn't actually know what the threat is.

  The End of Jehovah`s Witness`s

  we see alot of topics on the board about the end of the wbt$..i don`t think that will happen in our lifetime........so..lets change our focus..kingdom halls are getting fewer and fewer jw`s in them..congregations are being dissolved and kingdom halls are sold off..many jw`s are very unhappy and we see alot of them on this board.....the wbt$ is a billion dollar organization,they will survive for along time to come..........how about the jehovah`s witness`s?.......with fewer and fewer members..information about the wbt$ on the internet..and..some very depressed jehovah`s witness`s looking for a way out of the cult they are in.....will the "jehovah`s witness`s" survive?...outlaw

  i'm just wondering if any of you are sk fans, i just started to read the dark tower books, i began with the second book "the drawing of the three" and have not read the first one, so far so good.

  i always check blondie, bebu, alanf, farkel, onacruse, aguest (and probably others).

  bc what they say has some gravity, some enlightenment, some knowledge, some insight.

  big slam on watchtower good experience to use for child custody court to refute that jw kids are 'normal'.

  for his entire youth into his early adulthood, quarry was a member of the jehovah's witnesses, growing up in the christian denomination where life focused on school, bible study and home chores.

  there was no time for socializing or doing most things that most american teenagers do.

  it seems over the years, the organization has done 360's on several topics.

  do you think they will ever go mainstream with their beliefs.

  for example, college is good, blood is a conscience decision (without punishment), ect....... .

  Some good comments here....

  I see it this way: if they do, they lose. If they don't, they lose. Perhaps more slowly and painfully, but with the same result.

  As has been said: this cult was nothing more than an apocalypse expectation group, was not supposed to be around this long, and has resorted to dysfunction in order to sustain itself.

  They seem to be clamping down, becoming more totalitarian, but this is ultimately shortsighted as modern JWs do what they want when out of sight of church elders and 'Goody-Goodies'. So who remains when it becomes even more oppressive? Just the hardcore believers, and just how much money do these people have to keep things running for the Tower?

  This harsh fact of dimished cashflow might serve as impetus for more moderate (liberal) voices in the leadership to be seriously heard. As much as this cult prides themselves on being something special, their empire runs on DOLLARS, like everything else. Threaten those DOLLARS, and watch this nasty cult morph into something none of us could recognize, because their survival demands it.

  Whatever. This crap is becoming largely ignored by more and more JWs. They nod in agreement with the speaked at the assembly, but where the rubber meets the road of life, Junior's ass is going to be in college, studying something, by God...

  Because at the end of the day, some JWs aren't going to see their children suffer thru the same mistakes. And until the WT makes getting a Bachelor's degree a DFing offense...Junior's going to college. It is happening as we speak.

  in a critique of 'captives of a concept', robert king accuses anyone who can't get past all of the watchtower society's 'obstacles' as animalistic and lacking spirituality, including don cameron and ray franz.

  it's mindblowing how this bloke can consistently call the watchtower leaders liars, blind, false prophets, dishing up vomitous things, etc, yet continue to preach that they are still a 'faithful steward' uniquely appointed by christ.

  so, while it is true that jehovahs witnesses have not come to know the judgment of jehovah, cameron is similarly captive to a concept; and hence, ignorant of jehovahs judgment.

  No, the organization is far from perfect. But it used to be better. And will be again.

  Pardon me, but exactly who authorized you to make such a prediction, and can I hold your feet to the fire, should it prove to be false?

  You dismiss all these seeming peripheral points of WT life and doctrine, as if they don't matter. Problem is, the propagaters of this 'religion' claim these things DO matter, as certification of who exactly they ARE.

  By your own admission, Jesus draws the line in the sand concerning who is a follower, and who is not. What do you say to those of us who experience the lack of love? Are we all liars....every one of us? Do the words of Jesus stop mattering, because they convict the WT religion, instead of validate it?

  What you will find, eventually, is that if you are to serve Jesus and his Father, you will be forced to do so as an enemy of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. You will be forced to choose, as so may of us were. DO not discount us, because we happened upon the fork in the road sooner than you.
