Hi Joe,
I hope you are ready to deal with the fact that that millstone will end up around the neck of WT leadership. Good luck. Don't dismiss the truth just because it's not what you wanted to hear.
it appears as if this is a haven for those who hate the jehovah's witnesses.
if that is too tough of a stance, then this place is a haven for those who hate the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
many are apostates.
Hi Joe,

new years eve 1996 was the last time i enjoyed a new years eve with a girlfriend.
even though i wasnt into celebtrating it in a major way because of the jw influence on my life, it was a really great time to be with someone i cared about.
1997 onwards i became involved with the jws and of course i couldnt become involved with a worldly girl, so i became celebate.
Pay no attention to those who would dismiss your feelings, my friend. Many of us feel that void at different times all thru the year...you just happen to feel it now.
My advice is to indulge yourself in something (preferably not self-destructive) which brings you relief and pleasure. Do you play music? Or write? Do it...and do A LOT of it. As for me, New Years has fallen out of favor for a variety of reasons - mainly, I can't tolerate a spitting headache and an upset stomach....that's just me, though.
One more thing....do something nice for someone. I don't mean spend a lot of money...just put yourself out there for someone. You will enjoy the rewards, regardless of wether you are with someone for the New Year or not.
Good luck,
HYBRIDOUS
do you feel as if children in the watchtower organization get baptized too early in age?
when you think that in most places, you have to be at least 18 years old to vote, go in a bar, or have a drivers licence.
being told that it was the most important day of our life, wouldn't it be reasonable to wait to be at least 18 years old before getting baptized.
Well, they're trying to folow Jesus, right?! So then be just like him...baptized at 30!!
Seriously, tho...the numbers would suffer if kids had to wait 'til 18. I think that about 1/2 the current number of kids would actually go thru with it, if they had to wait until 18. All that time to think about it...Geez!!
i have seen several threads about how the elders are going to be going around asking people if they still consider themselves to be jehovah's witnesses.
this will undoubtedly result in multiple da announcements in the coming months.
i'm curious how the average jw will perceive this and respond to it.
With all the bad news here....combined with a good amount of rumor and speculation, of course...do any of you 'in the know' expect there to be any implications or consequences for those of us who were never baptized?
..... and i missed it!!!
arggggggggggghhhhh.
anyway, hubby was out front fixing the christmas lights when two jws approached him in the driveway.
Forgive my ignorance, but....
What would've been the harm in answering the question...'YES'??
'Yes, we still consider ourselves JWs, now be gone.'
If you can stomach lying to people who would gladly lie to you....what would've been the harm in answering 'yes', if only to preserve peace in the family?
If it meant keeping my relationship with my family somewhat steady, I'd lie my ass off to those idiots. Maybe this is a wrong game plan.....I don't know...
if any of you has said that to yourself, would you please share any of your experiences and trials you've had -- and what kind of discussion groups you may have participated in -- in order to keep your promise to abstain completely?
I wonder if I'm an alcoholic...
I'm going thru a gut-wrenching change of life, and....yes, when I get home from work....I usually want to drink until I feel good. I don't usually do it, but I sure want to an awful lot lately. What do you think?
i am sitting here listening to my kazaa, finding old songs that i had forgotten i even knew at one time.
music to me has always been an outlet for expression, even thou the words and music belong to someone eles.
it can help me to work thru my emotions in ways like no other .
If music has such an important part in your life....if it really enriches your life...take a step back and be thankful.
For me...it's one of the few things left that I have left in this life, that brings me some comfort and happiness.
dear brothers:
as you have admitted, the watch tower bible & tract society did join the united nations as a non government organization in 1992 ending in 2001, and according to the following watch tower this means that by their own actions they disassociated them selves from jehovahs organization which means that we must treat them like disfellowshiped ones.
in other words they are no longer jehovahs witnesses or have any right to that name.
'My church...right or wrong.' Remember that one?
That's what he means by 'standing up' for the WT.
h2o and watchtower observer were the ones that helped me the most.
of course, jwd is the best discussion forum on the net.
When I first started looking.....Freeminds and the old H2O saved my life. Literally. Thanks, guys.
Now, I lurk here most often, but I try to 'make the rounds' , so-to-speak, when I have the time.
many of you pagans get your spirituality, or a portion of it from nature.
which nature objects/places work the best for you?
i'm into rivers, trees, flowers and sunsets.
I'm with Larry....the STARS are simply incredible.
Try to look at them on a cool (or cold) night, when the air is still. If you can, get away from towns or cities or other sources of light pollution. Give your eyes some time in the dark to adjust. It's good for perscpective.
