ok this is very difficult for me because i just started studing this question.

what i would like to know is what have you decided from your studies and does anyone know the statistics on how many beleive in the 607 dat and how many beleive in the 586/587 date.. the watchtower likes to say they agree with the 607 because that number is based on the bible when the 586/587 is based on secular history.. from what ive read so far the mojority thinks it to be 586/587 because most searches ive done give me that date.. what have you come up with in your research?

i feel like you almost need to be a scholar to figure this out.

Billy the Ex-Bethelite/ celebrated Scholar i totally agree and thats why i started questiong it they have an agenda to prove the 607bce date to support there 1914.

I never understood why 1914 meant really anything and why it was significant!

I remember Jesus saying my yoke is light and i see the socities yoke as heavy as possible can be.

No other religion has more control over it's people on earth and thats not a compliment!

They have the same policy as the military (don't ask don't tell) as long as you stick to that all is well

Thx didgeridoo. for all that information because even tho i am inactive i have always thought it was still the truth.

what set me off was watching there own Dvd and all the propoganda. Pursue goals that hor God. it was horrible!

Ive always thought things were strange but just accepted them at face value.

Mr majestic thx for the funny comment ive read some of scolars nonsense and he never has anything substantial to say. His comments are all hate felt just like a good JW is good at hate everyone who disagrees and call them an apostate. Puts everything in a nice bundle and easy to remember!

Just to add my wife says im not supposed to have alot of questions now that i'm baptized i haven't even gotten thru one with the elders because they head right for the apostate rutine.

Thats what i'm hearing so far is that we say it's 607bce and because you are baptized you cannot question it.

Now i know these numbers are based on secular history but you know how the society is.

Any chance they get they discredit or call it apostasy. I'm learning that one from experience

I challenged my wife on the number and i know her she won't do a damn thing to find out!

Exactly thx for the response. I can tell you this that i never did understand why it was of any importance at all and most the time just laid down and accepted it. All thos years i never researched it and took there word for it.

Now that i'm asking questions there calling me an apostate for questioning the society. WTF !

I just had a visit from the PO and argued to him about the going to college issue. Especially when they make propoganda dvd's on (pursue goals that honor God). This is a recent dvd and every charachter that was going to college was portrayed as eveil and self interested. They don't get it he was trying to suggest i was leaning toward apostasy and i told him to get out of my house.

Your not allowed to ask questions on there theology just lie down and take the big JW cock up your ass with no vaseline. Just like a madrassa if the kids here all this by the time they are able to go to college they will already be trained and think its evil and self interested.

He must be a weak brother he is going to college. How nice of them to think this way

You should see the video a friend of my wife sent it has a 3 year old boy going up to the podium to read the bible i used to think how nice but now i think this makes me sick. There already programming them.

Does anyone remember the big 6 month Bible study push during the mid 1990s?

i was a regular pioneer for a while during the mid 90s, about a year or two after the knowledge book replaced the live forever book as the primary bible study manual.

around that time the society began to spew a bunch of b.s.

about the end being so near (hadn't heard that one before) and how there were waiting lists for bible studies in many former soviet countries.

Once again another tactic oh its reall close now we must hurry before the end. I totally remember going out on studies with people and the person could barely read let alone understand anything and most the time those studies did not go anywhere.

Or call information cost like 50 cents tell them the area code city and name of the person.

I found an old friend of my wifes who went to Ecuador as a missionairy for free thru the internet and they had not spoken for like 10 years.

Now they chat thru the internet quite alot.

If they have a residence or a phone they can be found so don't give up!

Buy some beer or wine and kick back and search on the net alot of times there will be people with the same name but they useually have there age there so if you know about how old they are you are set!
