  Unexpected JW reaction

  i talked to a jw i know and got an unexpected reaction.. i mentioned some of the "conspiracy theory" stuff i have heard...about one taken, one left behind ...and what i have heard about people will be picked up in the middle of the night and taken away to "places".

  this jw took it right in stride and said "yes, that's the way it was done when the nazi's started.

  many jws were killed then...blah blah".

  Thanks for the input BA. That is one of the things I am still sorta figuring out.

  In my post, I'm not saying that it absolutely is that way. I am looking for other views on it cos I haven't made up my mind yet.

  Forgive me for asking . . . but are you trying to convert us or something?

  Oh heavens NO! I think jehovahs-jihad is a hoax. I think "god" is a hoax. What would I convert you to, Estee?

  Unless you're interested in my wicked-fallen-angels-playing-god because they resent mankind theory.

  I know you are ex-Jw. But I figured you all studied the Bible a lot and probably have some answers for me. Is that OK?

  Any religion that in some way bases it's beliefs on the Bible, whether correctly or incorrectly, would understand that martyrdom, post death, results in the second death having no power over them.

  So, it is a privelege to die as a martyr for Christ.

  I am not so sure I can agree with that, BA.

  According to this scripture, it would seem to me that the Bride of Christ are the ones who survive through the great tribulation.

  Matthew 24: 30 "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.

  31 "And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

  And also this:

  Luke 12:39 "But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

  the key here is that "he would not have allowed his house to be broken into." It seems Jesus is instructing certain ones to not allow the plan of the thief to take place. Also in another scripture, it says if we are aware it will not be like thief in night because we will have some prior knowledge and recognition of the situation.

  35 "Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit.

  So could it be, that some people will "recognize" an actual alarm and a need to respond in a certain manner. Could it be that the 5 "lazy" virgins are the ones who do not heed the call to intuitive instruction?

  If two are in the field, and one is taken; or two are in the bed, and one is taken (and I think both Luke and matthew say they are taken to their deaths) If you knew that some sneak attack was about to take place...according to what Jesus has said here, would it not be appropriate to plan a course of action to foil those plans? Because of all this "instruction and warning" I see martyrdom as being disobedient and not listening.

  Btw..you know I am not talking about being disobedient to any organization. I am talking about not listening to your intutition when you have a strong pull.

  there were the " survivalists" and the
  "let jah provide" camps, and i do admit we had our
  strategy to escape somewhat in place until it became
  a background, hardly mentioned but not forgotten "teaching"

  Chickpea, which group were you? Active or passive?

  What memories you all are bringing back to me right now . What an emotionally ,mentally abusive religion I grew up in .

  Troubled mind, Sorry my question has put you and others through bad repressed memories. I didn't know it would do that. I can only hope there is some redeeming value in being able to confront and purge this travesty done to all of you.

  Has the WTBS ever explained the trinity?

  if i were going to comment on a deep philosophical doctrine, i would first outline what that doctrine was,has the wtbs ever dne this properly with the trinity?

  from memory they have only ever reasoned at the level"one plus one plus one = 3, not one" type of argument,and odd references to trinities in pagandom.. surely a college education would be of benefit to them so they know how to present a thesis?.

  Jesus is no relation to this old testament god. How many times are you all going to make me say this?

  Black Widow Spider bites beware!

  this year in our part of the county all spiders and black widows seem to more visable this year than in previous years.

  this brings me to the subject i would like to share with all in with idea that someone might saved some agony.. last thursday night just before i was going bed, a large black spider fell out of my pajama shorts to the floor landing in between my feet.i tried to step back but the spider spun a web between my feet and when i moved the spider moved!

  i finally got a good look at the spider before i wrapped her in tp and flushed her down the toilet.

  Why have religions always taught us to pick on one another?

  Why have religions taught us to make examples of others faults so we can puff ourselves up like we are "better" than them?

  Why does this old Moses religion promote hatred rather than compassion?

  Jesus came to get rid of these hateful teachings. He came to the Jews because they were the ones promoting this violence and elitism.

  Watchtower and all of its associates are destined for the abyss for continuing this hatred and antagonism.

  JW.org falling behind schedule or planned slow releases

  " it was releasing issues months ahead of the printed magazines.

  however, the process seems to have slowed and stalled.
