Coco,
I was beginning to identify with the quote up until the point of "let's be friends". I never get that line. When the moment of clarity comes I find my love was a leprechan.
horrible isn't it?
it makes you so vulnerable.
it opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up.

A church full of hateful people.
I feel sorry for the young children they are making to participate in this. I felt bad seeing young JW children being made to go door to door just the same way these kids are made to participate in demonstrating. They are too young to even realize what they are doing and their childhood should not be spent this way.
i just heard that the hall my husband is going to will combine with four other congregations to rent a building and have a mega memorial.
i just do not get why.. it is gong to cost each hall about $275.00 a total of over 1000.00. the parking at the building they are going to rent in horrible and the building is in a bad part of town.
the owners of this building have been trying to push its use in our city and the inside is very nice.
brotherdan: "It's the one time they focus on Jesus."
Yes, because it's a celebration of death. You cannot celebrate birthdays, but you can gorge yourself with a blood drinking occult ritual to celebrate the victory of shutting up a trouble maker who exposed too much corruption that was going on among the priests and political leaders.
just when i thought the wash towel was done trying to interpret the book of revelations, i came across this from paragraph 16 on the last page of the march 15, 2011 watchtower.... .
the urgency of the times we live in is underscored when we consider the inspired prophecy at revelation 17:10. the seventh king, the anglo-american world power, has come into existence.
concerning it we read: when he [the seventh world power] does arrive he must remain a short while.
DarioKehl: "JWs reason that God allowed the human race to try every conceivable form of government (federalism, communism, socialism, nationalism, fascism, blah-blah-blah) but one form that has yet to be tested is the "One-World Government""
It was a "one world government" when they were building the Tower of Babel. So yes, it was there at one time. Supposedly "god" destroyed that one world government. But I do not think this "god" was the Creator of mankind. I think that god of destruction was TPTB.
Just like today...internet is our Tower of Babel. We are globally connected. We can learn anything we want---the information is available. We can all "speak one language" by seeking websites of like minded people. Also "one language" by using translation sites. Who wants to destroy this contemporary Tower of Babel? Just like in the past...TPTB. It is detrimental to them.
growing up as a jw i always imagined the new system (tm) as being just like it's presented in the literature (tm).
i thought we'd all be hanging around with dorky looks on our faces, petting tigers and panda bears all day while we eat fruit and practice our dorky grins.. i've never seen a pic from the society (tm) showing cars or planes (or other forms of transport) in the literature (tm).
what did you imagine as far as transportation in the new system (tm)?
Page 309 has a glass and a glass jug, Cameo
Thanks for the scan, Black Sheep.
In the picture you posted, notice that the man in yellow shirt is lapping out of his hands. Wasn't there a bible story about choosing soldiers according to whether they drink from hands or get right down and lap like dogs?
Oh, and the pic you posted. That is the St. Pauli Girl who comes around after the few apostates (who mistakenly ended up there) stomp and ferment the fruit. The one pitcher of Paradise does not hold water. (neither do these crock-y stories)
here in europe, we have started different initiatives aiming at exposing publicly and legally the watchtower on the subject of ostracism, discrimination and shunning.. in the past we have seen different manifestations held in front of kingdom halls or branch offices on issues such as pedophilia and blood transfusions policies, and even, such as in france, against building of real-estates.
now it seems that the issue of discrimination against disfellowshipped or dissociated people is gaining momentum.
we have seen the large demonstrations in brazil, and maybe the lesser important ones elsewhere.
In the end, WatchTower will not admit to any responsibility in the shunning dictate. They are only a publishing company. They will defer that the actions of shunning are up to each individual according to how his conscience guides him. End of story

Cars, Laverite?
You got to be kidding me!
According to "Revelation-The Climax" they won't even have drinking glasses in the New System! And you expect...cars?
Maybe someone could kindly give us a scan of page 308 in the Revelation book. It shows that people will have to gather at the stream for water and scoop it up with their hands and lap it like dogs. All the while wearing dress pants and white long sleeve shirts.
And you expect...cars?
a friend disassociated in order to get divorced, hoping not to get disfellowshipped.
some time later, he has a serious non-jw girlfriend whom he'll probably end up marrying.
the thing is, he didn't disassociate because he no longer believed the wt doctrines.
Proverbs 26:11
As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.

What has light to do with darkness?
There is no spiritual common ground anymore between the slave and the freeman.
Quit whining about not being invited to be among the zombies and the dead. You cannot change them; it is a personal journey for everyone. Instead your focus should be on up-building those who have courageously walked away showing integrity and having truth as a priority. They deserve respect for their stand and should lead the way by example. These are the ones who truly have the "fruits of the spirit". Do the scriptures not tell you that the righteous will be persecuted? Is telling the truth ever rewarded in this world? Many of us learn at an early age that although we are admonished to "tell the truth" when we do, we are usually punished for it in some way.
Let them be pricks and ostracise you. Hold your head up and quit attempting to wallow in the mud with them. Be proud of your standards and who you are. Lead the way. Maybe someday they will quit rolling in their vomit and look up. Let them come to you. Stop trying to continue to force yourself to be "allowed" among them. Stop groveling to the WatchTower for privileges of association with the dead.
i think there are a lot of ways to get your hands bloody without actually joining the military or shooting a gun indiscriminately at foreigners in their own country.. can you think of ways that jws are participating in sponsoring wars without "going to war"?.
Blondie: "Christians paid their taxes in the first century to Rome and certainly some of that money was used to support wars. What did the early Christians say about that?"
Rightly so, Blondie. I doubt "Christians" had anything to say about it as "Christianity" was in it's developing stages, or rather "damage control" after the crucifixion and turning over the tables at the temple and exposing the scams and exploitations of the people by the priests and pharisees.
In our day and time, taxes are voluntary.
In 1945, a time when the war was at it's peak and people were very distracted with it, the Supreme Court defined the term "United States" to have three separate and distinct meanings. One of those definitions is that the US includes areas of land such as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam and American Samoa...BUT.....it does NOT include the 50 states of the Union.
One of the tricks of Legalese is to give new meanings to common words. The word "includes", in legal terms, means "limited to" and not "in addition to" as most people would normally define 'includes' in the common English language.
Therefore, if the 50 states are not included in the definition of the United States....
You will find some very enlightening information if you peruse this.
It is easier to point out the log in the eye of the Watchtower, but we all need to take personal inventory as to what we are supporting by our words, actions and deeds.
When you accept that you are a collective member of a society that promotes war, are you not guilty by association? If you have given that society the authority to speak for you or to operate on your behalf, are your hands not bloody, too, if your spokesman wages war to supply the needs of its society with the spoils? Whether that "Society" is the WatchTower Society or any other group that calls itself a society, if you are a member of it, would this not hold true?
Those who do not ask more questions remind me of JWs that have the attitude it's better not to know (if the meat is properly bled, etc. etc) because that way...if you don't really know for sure you are not held accountable. That is flawed reasoning.
