first and foremost i want to thank all the brothers (and one or two sisters) who were pdfing like mad to get these 'pre-kingdom school' chapter reviews ready (as per boe ltr these are 1,2,4-7,9 & 11)!.

for those of you trying to see who could do the entire book i want to let you know we had a 'dark horse' enter this race and his email was so compelling he is our 'winner' in being responsible for the full book (forthwith coming in the next day or so)-- and i will reveal more about him (as per his wishes) then.. so lets not waste anymore time in reviewing chapter one of the 'shepheding the flock of god' published by the wts (a non-profit organization whose purpose of this publication like all others is provided as part of a worldwide bible educational work.

Not Sure What To Do....HELP!!!!!

hello..i have been lurking for quite some time and am finally ready to make my first post!.

i was raised a witness and am still "active" in the congregation and am married to husband who is also and have been having some doubts for some time and voiced some of them to my husband a few months back and he immediatly called the elders who provided a sheparding call.

doubts were mainly on the harshness of the disfellowshipping and the blood issue.

Welcome lost!

Is your husband happy in the religion? Does he enjoy attending all the meetings and going in service? If the answer to these questions is yes then you have quite a project on your hands...

Go SLOW and don't overwhelm him - hopefully before too long you might get him to agree to be honest with himself and consider the opposing arguments - after all if the JW have the truth then their teachings will be able to stand up to the scrutiny of alternative arguments. At the very least, examining all sides will ensure he is making an informed choice to believe what the Jehovah's Witnesses teach.

As mentioned by others above, I also recommend you both read Ray Franz's two outstanding books:

(1) Crisis of Conscience, and

(2) In Search of Christian Freedom.

Do we have stats on a 'mass exodus'?

i see at times, talk of how many are leaving the jws, how the young ones are leaving in droves, that more and more are 'waking up' etc.. can we substanciate this?.

i mean, actual stats to show this, not just small or negitive growth in lands such as the united states, as there are larger growths in other countries.. there are of course the downsizings of bethels etc, but downsizing is not always a sign of members leaving is it?

sales may be down resulting in streamlining organization as with any corporation.. numbers d/f each year getting larger?
