  Loyalty to the WTS Org Leaders

  it is only proper for a c.o.to follow the directives and orders of the org.. however,lately the c.o.

  directives wrt employment,have been cut down hours.

  Those in Bethel and the DOs and COs are so used to handouts, green handshakes and living off the pleb publishers they are so out of touch with the reality of living and trying to make ends meet today. They also tend to socialise with the wealthier ones in their circuit or district which again gives them a warped view of the average publishers lifestyle. They (including those at the top of the WTS) seem to think that the congregation publishers pockets are bottomless pits of dollars bills reserved for them. All justified by telling those publishers that when they do hand over their hard earned cash that is really not surplus at all, that they are seeking first the kingdom. Makes me fume!

  No One Should Be Made to Choose…..LIES from July 09 Awake

  the following quote is taken from the article is it wrong to change your religion?

  in the july 2009 awake p29:

  no one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family.

  I thought that would be the case fokyc.

  It seems that the 'no one' that should be made to choose should really read 'no one who is not a Jehovah's Witness should be made to choose'.

  Just wondering if there is any feedback from anyone who discussed or showed this article to their JW relatives?

  It obviously didn't have any impact on my family as they still have not contacted or spoken to me since January.

  When bad spelling trolls leave, new bad spellers (studies, JW's, JW lovers) arrive

  i will totally leave names out, as many get all huffy about that.

  it's also possible that i am wrong, though i doubt it.. it's just that some trolls seem to deliberately be terrible spellers to make themselves look more naive and when they leave here for whatever reason, some new bad speller comes along in less than a week with an impossible problem or a complicated love situation with a jw or they are a firm believer with questions.

  just watch out.

  I realise that it's easy to make spelling mistakes when your focused on typing a post in a hurry

  however

  the alarm bells ring in my head when a newbie posts that they have been a JW for years and they can't spell Jehovah

  PS - Skipper - there is one little thing that I am still discouraged by. My entire JW family now shuns me because I dared to ask questions about the WTS. By the way I'm not da'd or df'd.

  i've just watched all 3 parts of francis ford coppola's epic godfather once again.

  it is a superb achievement on many levels.

  each viewing reveals something new and fresh.. i recall, as a good jw at the time, not seeing it when released as it was not certified as 'suitable' given the content for jws.

  it is a superb achievement on many levels.

  each viewing reveals something new and fresh.. i recall, as a good jw at the time, not seeing it when released as it was not certified as 'suitable' given the content for jws.

  i would love to do this on a mass scale... think there might be something "big" in the results.. 1. were you a born-in (including those who's parents converted while they were still children) or did you convert as an adult?.

  2. when you left, did you still (a) fully believe in the truthtm, (b) partially believe or (c) realise it was all a load of crap?.

  Q2 - b. Hadn't read enough at that stage to be sure

  Q3. - c. Crap for sure (with a capital C)

  Q4. - A little afraid - again as I hadn't read enough at that stage to be sure

  Q5. - b. Agnostic at this stage tending towards atheism

  The original Thomas Crown Affair with Steve McQueen has been a favorite of mine since I was a young teenager. The ultimate in cool.

  I also love:

  The Shawshank Redemption - Brilliant movie

  The Godfather 1 & 2

  I also really loved The Illusionist

  And for comedy:

  Hopscotch (Walter Matthau & Glenda Jackson) - very clever and very funny

  Oscar (Sylvester Stallone) - the one liners were brilliant

  It's so hard to pick just one.

  Has anyone else noticed how long the titles to topics are these days? I mean they used to be quite pithy but now they ramble on and on...

  look at the first pages and see how short the titles were.. now they can contain two or three sentences!

  are we losing the ability to be concise?.
