Ok, so I am still trying to comprehend everything. I think the explanations that Terry posted were interesting and well thought out . However, I am still not satisfied. Those explanations would make sense IF they had not left the island and been away for three years before returning. Those three years could not have been real either because apparently Aarron died a baby?? But they didn't just all die immedately when they crashed either because Aaron was born. Had Aaron not been in the church or appeared older I could probably swallow all this better. Also, where is Walt? He went back to the states and went to school, lived his life didn't he? Michael may have been in hell? Who knows!?? I need help! I need concrete answers. Just as lost as I have ever been.... : (

Ziddina: Yes I believe that is standard time.

BabaYaga, InquiryMan, Vivalavida: I find this is shocking but quite interesting indeed. I wonder if JWs from like the United Sates would be stumbled if they visited Europe and saw bearded elders. It is not entirely surprising though. I live in the East coast but I have friends in Southern California and the way they do things out there is vastly different than here. Beards are still pretty much a no no. But I am talking about Elders openly listening to rap music and active sisters wearing hootchie/club dresses to the memorial different. I just think that that if you grow up in one place thinking you absolutely have to do things a certain way, that these are Jehovah's standards and the only way to be pleasing to him, then you go to another part of the country or world and see the total opposite, how can one not see how much of a joke the whole thing is. That most of their randomly applied rules are just not biblical at all and have nothing to do with God.

my mother called today said i must, must, must go get this book and read it.

i see it every time i go to the book store but thought it had something to do with religion so i didn't want it.

i'm going to get it on friday and read it this weekend just wondered if anyone else had read it..

I have not read it yet, but I hear it is really good but the author takes liberties by putting God in like a humanistic form, or so that's what I hear. Two ladies at work could not put it down, they are Christians so Im thinking it is written from a Christian perspective.

Wow I never know they were allowed in any other countries especially European but that is very interesting to know. Everytime I saw that it kinda threw me off. There was some other things, like elders not being dressed up in a JC that I know for sure we would never see here in America. But overall they were pretty much on point. Very relatable!

i just bought it.its amazingly accurate!

especially when the heroine tells her father that she has decided to quit school and become a full time pioneer.he was so pleased!!!

!that is exactly the way it is!the movie is very good,and isnt total jw bashing.a very interesting look at a sick cult.also,i had a lot of "thea" friends,girls that would get me to do something that they "said " they were doing,and when i didi it,they would have to confess for my own good.whew,i am soooo thankful to be out of that crap..
