i heard several stories of the watchtower taking in loans and donations given by rich witnesses who have fallen on to hard times and asked for the money back and the watchtower won't return the money.

have you ever heard of the watchtower only paying the money back on "conditional loans" once legal experts get invovled?

one of the stories that is around is a family donated a large chunk of their nest-egg to the watchtower and the husband got sick and the branch refused to contact him when he asked for his conditional donation back, would the watchtower screw people out of their money?

CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE WORLDWIDE WORK

Many set aside, or budget, an amount that they place in the contribution boxes labeled “Contributions for the Worldwide Work—Matthew 24:14.”

Each month, congregations forward these amounts to the office of Jehovah’s Witnesses that serves their respective countries. Voluntary donations of money may also be sent directly to Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, c/o Office of the Secretary and Treasurer, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, New York 11201-2483, or to the branch office that serves your country. Checks should be made payable to “Watch Tower.” Jewelry or other valuables may be donated as well. A brief letter stating that such is an outright gift should accompany these contributions.

CONDITIONAL-DONATION ARRANGEMENT

Money may be donated under a special arrangement in which, should the donor request it, the donation may be returned to him. For more information, please contact the Office of the Secretary and Treasurer at the address noted above.

there may be some scriptures that say we are imperfect from birth because of (fictitious) adams sin.

such verses make no sense like many other prima-facie meaningless verses such as joshua 10:13; isaiah 40:26; john 3:13;11:26 ........ however, there are scriptures that say we are capable of displaying perfection which is already within us.

Formal Introduction - Hi!!!

been lurking here for yyyyyeeeeears, but was too busy with school, jw life and other interests.

now that i'm done with education for the time being anyway, plus the jw life is under pretty good control, i can spend some time and throw my views here and there in some attractive topics.. born-in, and deeply indoctrinated, but with life experience came better comprehension of my lot in life and have come to accept that, just like the family one is born into, jws are my family, friends, my ultimate and overall identity.

a jw is what i am; like the song 'hotel california', and like so many on this board, check out anytime you'd like but one could never leave.. remember like it was yesterday the failed 'the wolf is coming' calls of 1975, mid-80s, late 90's, y2k, 2004 or so, and same will be with the latest effort to get people overly excited about 'the end'.
