  Dear Governing Body - Why Have you abandoned Preaching Methods That Work?

  below are two paragraphs from the upcoming wt study (dec 15th study edition, pages 13 and 14) here the watchtower writer praises the methods used in the past for their effectiveness in bringing many into the organization.

  i have bolded phrases that emphasize these points.. 11 for example, as noted in the book .

  jehovahs witnessesproclaimers of gods kingdom, at the turn of the 20th century, c. t. russell and his associates strongly believed that they were in a time of harvest and that people needed to hear liberating truth.

  I disagree. Many preachers manage to fund their radio and television broadcasts. Joseph Rutherford kept up his radio broadcasting until he was forced off the air.

  In my opinion, it's a matter of direct control over their members. In George Orwell's fictional totalitarian state, 1984, mention is made of the fact that the Party was keeping its members constantly busy through a wide variety of forced activities other than work. The purpose of that was to keep them from having the spare time to think or do anything that might lead them to develop an independent state of mind.

  my mother-in-law is making leaps and bounds in her progress to get out of the watchtower.

  for those of you that don't know, she is df'd but has been working on "coming back".

  recently i've been able to exchange emails about the dangers of the organization and share jesus with her.

  went to the meeting today.

  what a ra ra to be zealous in preaching sales meeting.

  i was totally disgusted at the outright deception that they are spewing out.. .

  On rare occassions I have the burning desire to go back to the Ding Dong Hall and yell at the top of my lungs:

  Im stuck in: "I was waiting for someone to say, some can no doubt sell their homes and finish out the last days in full time service."

  They did say that in a 1974 Kingdom Ministry which was read to the entire congregation. I have a vivid recollection of hearing that statement read back then.

  They read something like, "Reports are coming in of brothers selling their homes in order to pioneer. What a fine way to spend the remaining few years before Armageddon." (Not necessarily a verbatim quote, but close enough.)

  It's nice that you correct these "prophets" on the things in which they're wrong. Makes me wonder if you are wrong on anything (everything?).

  The holocaust ended in 1945. That's when the concentration camps where liberated by the Allies.

  You may return back to your regularly scheduled program.

  Coffee_black-sweetheart I'm sorry about your troubles but why do you even keep responding? You have to realize that part of the reason anyone writes something anywhere is for others to read it. It's up to you to give yourself a break by not responding at all but give me one by not quoting me out of context.

  It would have taken you less time to write out the following (If it's true) and be done with it with no further response:

  Compared to:

  Villabolo, you can think whatever you like of me. Doesn't bother me a bit. My daughter and mother of 3 has been diagnosed with a severe case of congestive heart failure, and it is possible if things do not improve significantly, that she will need a heart transplant. It is hard to focus on much these days...which is why I have insomnia. So give me a break, will ya...and take me at my word. Everyone who really knows me does.

  Now get some sleep dear lady (Try some sublingual melatonin) and stay off JWN or any other website altogether. And yes, my heart goes out to you on behalf of your daughter and mom. I hope the best for all of you. Good luck and goodbye.
