Strymeck, if you're into masochism, I suggest Beck's website www.theblaze or, better yet, www.mediamatters.org which is always keeping tabs on his antics. They have short clips on him, which is about all one can take.

Beck has already inspired the murders at the Unitarian Church a while back. The murderer admitted to the police that he was a Beck fan and that he killed the church members because he couldn't get to liberals in positions of power.

Thank's Band for sharing that. I believe things would have been much worse at 9/11 if Glenn Beck were on Fox back then. You would have had lynchings inspired by him. As for his state of mind, I believe that he is a Narcissist in the clinical sense.

I don't think his smarts, whatever they may be, can counterbalance his arrogance and paranoia. They are leading to 'stupid' (psychotic), self destructive behavior such as pointing the finger to the Bush administration as allies to those involved in his 'Muslim conspiracy' and his lashing out against Republicans. He is also losing substantial ratings.

I've known former gangbangers and some heavily tattooed individuals who have replied with indignation when I said that it wasn't "the truth". They always say the same thing, "I know it's the truth but I'm not ready to go back yet".

I've known those who have been inactive for well over a decade who scream in defense of the Bitchtower when I told them it wasn't "the truth".

And yes, ex-JWs will gladly make friends with you and then abandon you when they get back into that swamp.

i'm reading this book 'who moved my cheese?

' and i like it.

i have friends who are the mice (which i think if funny) and i think i've been hem for too long and now want to be haw.. has anyone read this book and what did you think of it?.

I haven't read it but, based on what I heard, I know its premise.

It is basically a fable oriented towards justifying the Corporate mentality to its victims in the workplace.

My understanding, correct me if I'm wrong, is that it's about some mice that live in a maze (There's a not so subtle hint there about the evil of this book.) The maze is run by unnamed scientists who are constantly changing the position of the cheese they put in the maze as part of an experiment with the mice.

One day a mouse discovers the missing cheese and panics. Eventually the mice learn that they have to keep running around the maze in order to find the constantly shifting cheese.

This is an analogy to the corporate workplace (the maze); workers (the mice); and dissapearing jobs (the cheese). The lesson, from the point of view of corporate psychopaths, is that workers should stop complaining and find another job. Never mind the fact that the cheese keeps dwindling even IF the mice, errrh-I mean workers- happen to find it. Never mind that the MAZE extends thousands of miles overseas where the mice (there I go again) get crumbs.

Moral of the story. Learn a new language. Wear different clothes. Move half a world away.

XJW, I'm familiar with the theological term.

Even though Jesus said that it was not the time for his disciples to know the "time or dates", dispensationalists are in the habit of saying that this statement applied only at the time it was uttered. During the end times, however God would reveal it, according to the following scripture:

4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.--Daniel 12:4 New International Version

This gives them a way out to make whatever claim they want.
