Easiest way to explain the gospel/What is the gospel (message):
"...that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures..."
Full context (I Corinthians chapter 15 verses 1 thru 8):
"Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time."

Just joining the ranks here of previously thinking and wishing death to befall some before Armageddon so they would "definitely" live forever.
Isn't cult thinking and reasoning wonderful, brothers and sisters? How happifying!
Happy are God's people who put on the new (Watchtower) personality and faithful til the end!

How do you feel about birthdays and Christmas now?
by Chariklo ini wonder...for those of you who were brought up as a jw or who have been "in" for many years, how do you feel about birthdays and christmas and celebrations in general now?.
the indoctrination/brainwashing is very strong.
once you are out, or, perhaps, still in but totally disillusioned and sure that it is all a lie, not the truth, do you find that you are determined to celebrate like mad to make up for what you missed, or do you find you have a lingering sense of guilt, however irrational you may now think it is?.

Excited about and love Birthdays and Christmas. We have been celebrating all the holidays since leaving the Watchtower in Spring 2008. 30+ years born into the cult and cult mentality, glad to be free of the Watchtower and celebrating the life we have to share whenever possible.

Are Mormons "racist" towards black people?
by booker-t ini really do not know much about the mormon religion so i don't want to say things that are not true.
but mormons just give me a feeling of that they are "phoney" i just feel that in my bones.
i don't want to stereotype people but i live in the same apartment building with 5 young mormon missionaries.

This will help sum it up. It is their root-foundation teachings for years:
http://www.youtube.com/embed/7q6brMrFw0E
"Black Skin" is a "Curse" and a part of their explanation of the "Negro Race".
Around the 2 minute mark in the video link provided above gives those details.
