  Family Worship Night Rule.....

  i have it on good authority that at the recent circuit assembly it was announced from the platform that there had been reports of groups of families and friends getting together to study on family worship night and that this was not to continue as fwn is for families only and not for other brothers and sisters to get involved in.. oh, and if you live alone, then you have to study on your own, you alone are your family, you are not to join anyone else's fwn (although i'm sure they didn't mean you couldn't join your blood family's fwn....).

  the level of control never ceases to amaze me...... .

  i spent an hour and a half last night on the phone with my mothers boss.she has worked for him for years and i have known him since i was a teenager.

  he called because he could not believe she was not coming out here to see her oldest grandson graduate from high school.

  he said i offered her a plane ticket and everything i could think of to get her to come and she refused.

  Quandry- My husband has asked me about this many times especially since she HATES him. I said we will have to take care of her and you can read

  Crisis of Conscience to her each night. It reminds me of the bumper sticker be nice to your kids they pick out your nursing home.

  Hubert that letter is very powerful and so sad.

  My husband and I simply faded we did not DA nor were we DF. All though it's been 7 years its still difficult to be shunned. I am her only child she has no husband or any other family.She just has her JW family. It is sad and she tells the people at her work how much she misses me and her grandchildren. I told them to tell her that was her choice not mine and she can change it at any time, but I know she is too stubborn and the type of person who always has to be right so I know nothing will change. But I love this forum where people understand.

She has been telling them that for the last 7 years plus she could not visit with us because we don't go to meetings and aren't serving God. And everybody that she works can not believe a religion would separate a family.They are all pretty religious at her work place and have talked to there pastors trying to understand the witnesses on shunning and the main thing they get is that JW's are a cult and this is cult control. So the way I see it she can spend hours each week pioneering trying to bring people in but just by her example at work she has shone the real side of the witnesses. So when they come to these peoples door they immediately mention the shunning to them and JW's have yet to give them a reasonable answer. So I am going to send him copies of all the great things that have been on here about shunning. I also am going to make a DVD of all of V's Watchtower comments and send to them because he asked me about blood and the 144,000 and I think those videos are great and easy to understand.So I have got all this time in who do I report it too?

  It is so wonderful that your son has a caring understanding mother. So many in this situation have no family support. Love him and thumb your nose at the Borg. Our children are what is most important.

  Well it seems that Catholic Relief Services is in there doing a lot and as they say in there article "We are one human family, and it is at times like these when we must all come together to support one another.” Something the witnesses seem to over look time and time again.

  Pretty close at a District Assembly. Two teenage boys were sic ed on my husband and I by there "crazy" mother. She did not like my husband and I because we didn't invite her to our wedding and it went down hill from there. They tried to pick a fight with us in the hallway at the assembly while my husband was carrying our two year old and one was pioneering at the time. This defiantly gets you thinking about brotherly love.
