something terrible happened.
i did something to compromise myself and unfortunately my double agent status is over.
i will soon have to move out on my own and either disassociate or face an invasive witch trial that i honestly would only take part in for the purpose of secretly recording it.
Sheep-like?
Getting slapped around by your mother at age 27 is not sheeplike.
That's assault. Have her charged. Then you better plan on moving while she's getting her bail planned.
i think a lot about how i spend my life and what i might be able to do to get more out of it.
the problem, however, is that change is hard.. i'm not content with how society wants us to spend our time and money: getting iphones, going out to eat constantly, going on weekend vacations, buying things on the internet, watching tv, etc.. i try to analyze what i do... but like i said, it's hard to change it.. my life consists of the following:.
waking up: i get up in the morning, my wife has already left for work/school, i get my morning cup of tea and eat a bowl of cereal.
Volunteer. It is amazing how many nice, caring people you'll meet.
Plus, you will be giving back to the community. There are so many places that need basic help. A soup kitchen. Habitat for Humanity. Goodwill. Salvation Army.
Meeting new people at these places is amazingly eye opening and very enriching.
Or, you could have children and totally change your lifestyle.
Edited to add because I didn't answer your questions:
I have an iPhone, TV, home, etc. All of that *stuff* makes me happy. I like technology. I also love being outside. I love cars. I love driving fast. I love animals. I love eating animals.
Is my life simple? No, not really. I have to drive to work. The public transportation is the wrong direction. I have to pay my bills and save for retirement. That is the nature of today's life. I would rather live farther out in the country, however, the property is more expensive.
Overall, I'm very happy with my life.
here's my story:.
i am the oldest of 5 children.
my parents and grandparents ( on my dad's side ) are all jw's.
Wow.
Your childhood sounds not uncommon-for the JWs. I think growing up a JW sucks the life out of many women for some reason. I came to the conclusion not too long ago (about 2 nights ago) that my mom didn't want kids and didn't love me either. I have been reading Psychology Today articles on why women are like that to children. There are many books by PHd psychologists etc. It is sad and sickening. I am very sorry for what you went through. I feel like I've aged 20 years in the last few days.
The writer above is correct: women in particular who grow up in abusive households are prone to marry abusive men. The cards were stacked against you in that, then add in the JW factor and you were in a really terrible situation.
Again, it is incredible you survived and got out. I am happy for you that you got out of your marriage and the JWs.
13 months later.
probably 1500 applications/resumes online and in person.. it is not a great job - flippin' burgers - and the distance is a bit more than we wanted for her to drive - but we are thankful!
they mentioned possible management in the interview - so perhaps it can grow over time.. anyway - it will help keep the wolves off the doors.
That is great news. Anyone getting a job in this economy must be congratulated.

6 bullshit facts about psychology that everyone believes"cult members are stupid, gullible sheep!".
why it is bullshit:.
I don't know about the "just as intelligent, if not more so, than the general public" part.
Here is an article from Psychology Today on Gullibility:
Part 2
There are a total of 5 parts which can be accessed from the first part, if you're interested.
it's a little late to be posting something like this, but i hope you can help me a little.
i would really like to review some of the pluses and minuses of universal type health care.
so here are some for consideration.
Here is a link to doctors debating the pros and cons:
Here is a website called BalancedPolitics.org debating it:

Try to look at the opinions

If we don't have enough General Practioners (doctors), all the Universal Care, all the *Preventative* care, etc. won't mean a thing.
And, we won't have enough GP's.
Here, hopefully some of you can read the article as USA Today put it on their web page yesterday.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2009-08-17-doctor-gp-shortage_N.htm
When I go to the GP, who is an Internal Medicine doctor, it takes 2-3 weeks for a non-emergency appointment. Who is there? People over the age of 65. They take priority. For everything. If they have a sniffle, they get in first. It could be pneunomia.
Tort reform is critical. Why won't the Congress start with Tort reform? Because most of them are lawyers and medical malpractice suits cost big dollars.
It is sickening the amount of tests the doctors will admit to having you go through, if you ask, because they don't want you to sue them. Try it next time you go.
