  How do you reply?

  i have read this board for a couple of years, and only began posting this past year.

  i read some amazingly articulate questions and responses, and i admire the effort that people put into their posts.

  with that in mind, how do you work out your posts?

  Sylvia posts much more than I do. She also is much more articulate and says things in a much clearer, cleaner way than I do. So, usually she says what I want to say so I don't bother because she said it so much better than I could have. :-)

  I start typing, re-read my post, edit, re-edit and 7 out of 10 times, hit delete. I don't hit submit.

  On a post like this, I will submit. Just because I understand. So many people have already said what I want to say, I figure "why bother, it's already been said". That is the shy person in me.

  Just type and hit submit. It is empowering.

  When you are away from it you realize what a thankless job it is. However, when you are in the cult, you think it is a pretty good gig. You have all the ladies waiting on you. You don't have to put a napkin on your head. You do get to tell others what to do. Or not. You get to be a bully. Or not. You pretty much have it made. Being the "head of the household" and all.

  As a female you are in a flux. You go out in the real world and are expected to fit in and act *normal* and work and perhaps take a leadership or supervisory role in your job. You go to your place of worship and you turn into an Amish housewife. Total disconnect.

  Oh, and no toilet cleaning duty. That one always sucks.

  So, the story is focusing on H&M clothing stores and has a byline on Walmart. Which has one store destroying clothing. H&M apparently is doing it more. And, the customers of H&M, who are young, hip and faddish, are outraged. Customers of Walmart shrug their collective shoulders.

  Yet your thread is about WALMART not H&M.

  Why? Because so many Obama loving, Walmart hating (yet they shop there anyway, because their sister used to work there) types might see your thread and comment?

  How can you test whether you have broken free of the mind control

  it's been less than a year but i think i am nearly there.. i can read through a mag or sit through a meeting and instantly see through the bs.. i can watch the news without thinking is this a part of the composite sign.. i see people for what they are without trying to pigoen hole them.. i'm not worried what the elders think.. however,.

  i still show too much interest if i see something about a jw in the media.. i notice kingdom hall if driving through a new place.. i still want to stop and say hello if i see a group of witnesses on the street.. how do you guys and gals measure the progress of your exit from the cult?.

  I drive by a KH about 3 times a week. I look it over, sometimes I think "I wonder if they have security cameras and if they would see me torch the place?"

  Other times I drive by and don't even realize I have. Other times I have seen the cars sitting there during the day. All the pioneer vehicles. I feel sorry, then just shake my head. Then I wonder if they have security cameras and if they'd see me torch the place.

  So, *I* would say I've broken free.

  is there fate?

  if so, are we fated to be the bad evil slave?.

  if the bible prophecies that there will be an 'evil slave that falls away and beats his fellow slaves because the master is delaying' doesn't that mean that someone has to fulfill that prophecy otherwise the prophecy would be false?

  Parable schmarable.

  Evil slave. Weevil slave.

  Is it our fate to be the bad one? Do most people have no choice but be bad because of all the prophecies, that were made before they were even born, said they'd be bad?

  why can't I have God's spirit and be born again too?

  There is, probably, a big mega-baptist church on a corner near your home, and they can help you with this question. For a mega donation.

  Do you have good memories of associating with JWs?

  NO.

  Like all of these threads, any group you "associate" with will have some people who are *nice*. However, the dubs are trained to shun you. How many of you are able to call up your old JW friends and just hang with them? Like, today? Or on this coming Friday when just about everyone will have the day off? Are you going to call your old JW friends/pals and wish them "Happy Holidays"?

  Yeah, thought not.

  Which is why I have zero good memories of associating with them.

  Which goes to the qestion:

  Associating with JWs? What happened to hanging out with them? What happened to the true friendships? To being friends with JWs, etc. Being in a mind controlling cult is the whole problem being in the JWs. You "Associate" with people. You aren't really friends with them. True friends don't dump and shun over a disagreement with them over dogma.

  Only people in a cult do. People they "associate" with.
