  my strange neighbor

  a neighbor four doors south of me.

  the night before our trash pick up he send his sons out (20-30 year old) with their trash and fill up the neighbors trash cans.

  i was speechless when my next door neighbor told me this.

  Motion detector lights and camera. Costs about $100.00 total. You'll have added security and the neighbor will go find someone else's trash bin to throw his crap into.

  BTW, we are dealing with a recycling thief. We have to pay for a recycling bin. A local contractor picks it up. He and his little company make money by picking it up and taking it to the recycling place. A nasty job by anyone's standard.

  I caught a group of dirty, filthy men in a pickup late at night going house to house taking all the recycling stuff. They were stealing from the recycling people!! It might not seem like much, however, the people that do it for a living are losing on all that trash. The recycling people come in the morning after the trash men and pick up the recycling bin stuff.

  I yelled at them and they turned their vehicle around and turned the lights off and left. I have seen them in other areas, just not ours. Unbelieveable what people are doing now.

  Hugs and best wishes on your imminent arrival. I hope all is well. I understand how sisters can be and just want to lend my support. You've received some great advice. My sis has been up and down with me so I do understand. Your sis giving you a gift is a step in the right direction.

  Why do some women think the bottle blonde and bottle tan look is good?

  just met a woman, who would have been pretty had she not been orange and had almost white blonde hair.

  neither real, the look came complete with hair extensions which also looked flase.. does anyone think this looks good?

  Ummm, why *is* Pamela Anderson so popular?

  Women's magazines regulary tell you to put on sunblock then show models with what looks to be suntans. They tell you the best bottle type suntan products to use. Which ones will produce the best fake tan.

  Then they will give poll results on whether or not silicone breasts are OK. Results? Yes. So, young women want bigger boobs. Why? Because the mens magazines and men seem to want them.

  No one is natural. Sadly marketing has taken over our lives.

  My Uncle is Dying.

  nearly a year ago my uncle was diagnosed with prostate cancer - he initially thought it was just a bladder infection and it took him passing out to go have more serious tests.

  thus he received this news and shared it with us, his family.. the family rallied behind him and we all did everything we could to get him to his treatments, make sure he ate properly and supported him.

  my cousins came out from the uk when it looked like he was going to die in a couple of days.

  Thank you!

  My ardent JW mom told me that a gal in an abusive relationship was similar to someone in a cult. I actually laughed out loud. I do see the similarities. However, for my mom to tell me that and not see herself in that big mirror; well, heck. I had to laugh. I didn't even try to explain. I said I coughed.

  and even then, a very shallow understanding is all that i wanted or needed to 'place' the magazine.

  I sent my mother flowers. I also sent them to my ill sister in the hospital; her only child hasn't spoken to her in months and has only visited her once since she started treatment for XXXX back in January.

  As a side, my mom got the flowers yesterday and after calling me to tell me all about her day and how miserable it was she said:

  "oh, yeah, it was the day of your birth yesterday. You're now a day older." That's it, that is how she acknowledged my birthday, the day before. She then said "I've been too busy with your sister's stuff think about you."

  Ummm, yeah. Whatever. Thanks Mom. You make honoring you easy. Really. <sarcasm>

  Then she said "Oh, and thanks for the flowers."

  Why do I bother?

  Oh, because I hate to lower myself to her level and I like doing nice things like that.

  Let's see, we've (us Apostates) grew up with and have seen graphic Watchtowers and Awakes showing people being killed at Armageddon. No biggie.

  Then came Friday and 13th and The Terminator movies. And video games.

  Yes, we can handle it. I want to see them.

  Do You Blame Your Current Life's Issues Because You Were A JW?

  So many people blame "not going to college", "not getting a college education" on the WT.

  How many people in the US go to college and complete that education?

  According to Wikipedia, which pulled it's data from the US Census, 27%.

  So, 27% of YOU would have gone on to college and completed a Bachelors degree. Yet, the main gripe is "I didn't get to go to college". Were you qualified? Did you take the testing? Did you and/or your parents have the funding and the means to go to college. College ain't cheap. Even 25 years ago, it was expensive and college loans had an interest rate of 15%. Currently they are 7%. A few years ago they were 3%. That is huge over the repayment period and can make the difference between purchasing a much needed car and/or a home.

  So, for the 27% of you who could have/would have gone--what would you have studied? Did you have a plan? I did. I went. I paid my loans (15%) off in my alloted 10 years and rented a crappy apartment.
