Oh No! I am so sorry for your loss.
That you and your son had a relationship was good thing.
Please accept my condolences.
i have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

on the evening of thursday, april 5th, after sundown, some 19 million people will meet in kingdom halls around the world to celebrate the lord's evening meal.
of those 19 million less than half will be fully-fledged jehovah's witnesses comprising men, women, and children, who have dedicated their lives to the cause, amounting to some 7-and-a-half million - a mere 0.1% of the world's 7 billion population.. .
that 0.1% are in a privileged position.
I wish them luck!
an open letter to the body of elders, .
sudbury (suffolk) congregation of jehovah's witnesses.. .
on wednesday, april 4, 2012, the decision will be carried out to announce to the congregation that, rory sullivan is no longer one of jehovah's witnesses.. .
Welcome to the board. Your letter to them was very good. My best wishes to you and your family.
i just got my invitation!
yeah!!!!.
no one knocked on my door.
Looks just like the TWO I got!!
Ha ha! One in the mail and one at the door. I was unsuspecting and answered, expecting the guy who was supposed to powerwash my deck. No, it was a neatly dressed man, with a bible in his hand. (groan)
I had to answer, he saw me and I must have looked like a deer in headlights.
I almost threw it out. I'm keeping it to show my husband. He's never seen what a JW invite looks like.
the obsession of apostates.. a jw apologist's view.. http://dismythed.blogspot.com/2009/01/obsession-of-apostates.html.
bangalore.
.
I started reading that blog but it sounded just like a Watchtower article. Gag.
In the opening paragraph:
Apostates, on the other hand, are an obsessed lot. They are not satisfied with turning people away at every mention of Jehovah's Witnesses, but they spend every moment of their free time obsessing over turning people, particularly individual Witnesses themselves, away from the organization. The time they should be spending on preaching the word of God, they instead spend it turning people away from the only true God. Why the obsession? Are they concerned with the welfare of others? Are they demonstrating a humanitarian outreach? Are they trying to prevent some major catastrophe? Are they trying to be helpful with the religious choices of others? Or is it simply malicious intent? The answer may surprise you.
Personally, I don't spend every moment of my free time obsessing over turning people away from the organization. I have too many other darn things to do-like having a life now that I don't have to go out in FS or to meetins 4 times a week. Yeah for free time. Oh, and wearing pants everywhere. (giggle)
As for preaching the word of God, I've come to realize, not too many people want to hear about it. In fact, none do. Which is why door-to-door work is so unproductive.
How would I prevent a major catastrophe? Me? Seriously? The Federal Government can't stop a Hurrican, how can I? Tornado? Nah, my G-force isn't up there either.
I'm thinking this guy is a writer at Headquarters.
a prediction coming true?
today i added a new article to my blog.
it compares watchtowers letter dated april 2, 2012 with a prediction made june 28th, 2011. decide for yourself.
Thank you!
Your site is great.
found in the sunday newspaper supplement, parade, march 25, 2012, is an article, "what will sandra lee think of next?
" see page 10 of the parade magazine.
in the article it states:.
I read this yesterday in Parade and then googled her name. There are numerous stories on her and the Govenor. None talk about her being a JW. That is in her book apparently. I'd never heard of her. I looked at some of her recipes and they sound vile.
When I read the description of her Mom, I was picturing any number of Sisters from the congregation.
At least she escaped and made something of her life.
the pressure on children growing up with jehovah's witness connections can make their childhood extremely difficult.. .

alex verdan qc, 4 paper buildings.
That poor kid is going to need a psychologist to get through all the mind games his Mom is going to put him through.
I hope the father gets on this or another Ex-JW board and really investigates.
hello all jwn .
so glad to have that over with- it was surreal to walk in the kh after two years...it is just a building to me now (not "jehovah's house").
i must say that now i'm on the outside...what a boring sad building- the people were not joyful and friendly (just older and fatter than i remember)- i got the nervous stares and shaky "hi" when i looked at all of them and said hello.. my mom was sitting all by herself in the front row of the hall...i went and sat by her side.
So sorry for your loss and the way they treated you CHG.
Hugs to you!

If you want to know how economics *works* go online to a college book store and purchase Econ 101. Start there and work your way up. Better yet, take an Econ course at the local community college. The money will be well spent.
Trying to understand Economics on an Ex-JW board is an, umm, uneconomical use of your time.
