  can anyone imagine the what the elders in his current congregation must be going through ?!.

  in their ideal world, they would have df'd him once they knew there would be a trial so they could play the card "he's not one of jw's.

  " but since it occurred in a different congregation and he was already punished, there is little they can currently do.. wow, imagine the buzz in the kh when the info started leaking out.

  I found out my Mom had been at the Assembly all day Friday and yesterday; she hadn't heard about this. I found the ABC link and e-mailed that with a short note.

  She just phoned me to tell me she was surprised.

  She knows that the Society is going to appeal.

  Her words on Kendrick: "The bible said there will be be wolves among us". I just grunted.

  She then asked if I had looked at the pedo registry for my area? I said I hadn't since I don't have children at home and I'm not a child.

  She was trying to deflect.

  She is very upset by this but believes the Society will get off.

  the plaintiff, candace conti's goal from the very beginning was to bring enough attention to this problem to incentivize watchtower to change its policy of secrecy.

  the award can be explained as it was decided: separate compensatory and punitive damages.

  the punitive award is established in law to punish wrongdoing - here, the conscious disregard for others - and deter that conduct in the future.

  I usually get 3-5 e-mails a day from my JW aunt in California. Today? Not one.

  My Mom, who has some major issues regarding pedofiles, hasn't called today, usually I get 2-3 calls a day since my sister passed.

  I have no doubt they are trying to figure out how to spin this.

  I'm thrilled she got so much.

  god bless the usa song by lee greenwood...is making little kids sing a bieber love song instead lmao...baby baby baby....and it is a very long segment with lee himself making good points about the idiot jw as did the mom of a kid the jw lady principle bitch slapped for singing the song...that is not literal all you pc sensitive types out there.....oompa.

  Nephew Readying for Harvard

  since he disregarded the elders' "encouragement" to turn down the fellowship offer from harvard, he's being deleted as a ministerial servant.. he leaves in august.. i'm so happy for and proud of him!.

  I have to brag about my kid

  alex, our youngest graduated cum laude from the university of washington today with a bachelor's in environmental science and a minor in quantitative analysis.

  he has a job in his field.

  he and his fiance, who also graduated today (biology) are getting married july 1. she's starting a phd program at berkeley in august, so they're moving.

  okay, first of all: i like the earth, the polar bears, the whales, and any other part of the planet that someone wants to help.

  i appreciate any efforts that people exert.

  the planet is going through global warming and pumping exhaust from automobiles and factories and other sources does contribute to the global warming.

  Oh Mrsjones, that is hideous. Give your husband an extra hug and kiss tonight and let him know that you love him. My MIL was not a JW and she was just as bad. Bad parenting and lack of love knows no religion.

  As for things teens say to parents: I was circumspect. My sister was not. She got kicked out of the house and ended up in an abusive relationship as a result.

  How horrible parents can be!

  My mom has said and done many similar things as reported. One sticks out-she repeatedly told my sister and I that our father never loved us and that "we were millstones around her neck" that was one of her favorite phrases to let us know how lucky we were to have her as our mother. She would then threaten to drop us at the local orphanage if we acted up in any way at all. She did drive us there once and demanded that we get out and announce ourselves. We had to beg for mercy, say we were sorry and plead with her to take us home. (there was an old fashioned orphanage about 4 blocks from where we lived-it was scary looking!)

  She did but I'll always remember how she used our fear of being abandoned as a way to control us.

  Some people, obviously, should never procreate.
