Hey, JD, if those were around her crotch or inner thighs I might agree. Since they're not, why so judgemental?
Yeah, the pain! I expected major pain. It wasn't that bad. I was ready to bite my lip off. No where near as bad as child birth. I am guessing the location makes a difference also. Mine is in a pretty easy spot. Not too many nerves. The lower back has got to have more nerves. My hat is off to you guys!! Hopefully we can all meet someday and compare R tats!
I just heard the name Tramp Stamp added to the dictionary this morning, made me laugh.
I have seen old ladies get them to 12 year olds. (way too young) I like them. I was going to get one in college and really freak everyone out. I got drunk, drove to the tattoo parlour and sat outside. I was terrified. (back then, it literally was a group of sailors going in to do it) I decided to wait. 20 years later I did it.
I have one on my forearm, just below my inner elbow. It is a half-moon looking at a star. My mom thought it was a Proctor and Gamble symbol.
saw a topic on dating earlier.
made me think of chaperones.
i always hated having someone with us when we went to do anything.
Chaparones are ridiculous. Especially for teens. Believe me, I know.
I was the chaparone. I was the younger sibling and got put in the back seat and told, in no uncertain terms that if my older sister did *anything*, I was to report back to our Mother immediately.
My sister, older and meaner, told me in no uncertain terms that she would beat the s&it out of me if I told about anything that I witnessed. And, everytime we saw what she or her boyfriends thought was another car load of young people they would order me down.
"Head down, you fool!! They'll see you. They'll know you're with us you loser."
Making someone else go along was awful.
My sister recently brought it up, decades later. It still eats at her. She is still angry about it. She believes it was my fault our Mother forced me along on her JW dates. (When my sis dated worldly guys, my Mom let her go alone. No chaparone necessary. It was all a sham for the other JW families to feel better.)
So, teenagers will find a way. Don't kid yourselfs that having another person around is going to stop them from doing what nature is calling out. I was there. I saw a lot of it. It was ugly.
Anyone?
my sister called me tonight, and reminded me of this, i had forgotten.
- there was an engagement party and the whole cong was invited.
- the fourth of six kids, and it was in a function room with no bar.. everyone was allowed one glass of wine and no one was allowed to bring any.
There was a party at an Elders home just for the teen-aged crowd. The Elders daughter had one album--Beachboys Greatest Hits. It played over and over and over, all night long. I had no way to get home and home was about 10 miles and it was December.
As the album played over and over and over on the LP, one girl, my kinda, sorta friend, Karla, started to dance. She had big boobs and all the guys were interested in watching. She stood alone in the living room doing what I now know would be a pole dance. She writhed and wiggled and danced for about 2 hours, all to the Beach Boys. By herself.
The Sisters were hopping mad. The young Brothers were all gathered around watching Karla *dance*, and all they could do was stand in the kitchen and talk about her. Put down after put down.
Karla was a loner, like myself. Her step-father was a weirdo and wanted to be a MS. She had a half brother and half-sister as a result. Also a full sister living with her.
I later found out that Karla's step-dad was molesting the group of them. I had spent quite a few nights over at that house, too. Karla, her full sister and both half siblings. Sick bastard. Poor kids.
I'll always remember that party because one of the panting young brothers got drunk and ended up DFd over it. (I had a terrible crush on him and will always remember him-can't remember his name though-- )
i have been awol for a while.
i lost my husband to cancer after a long couragous battle of 5 years.
i honored his wishes with a catholic mass.
I am so sorry for your loss. My sincere condolences. Having a Catholic mass in his honor was very loving, especially since he wanted it.
the type that refused to cowtow to the elders, stood up for themselves etc?
i did, i was one of them, and like all that i've known, i left..
My mom was when she was younger. Got her DFd. She appealed that and got it reversed. Not reinstated, reversed. She was always fighting the Elders on something. We changed KHs frequently because she was always debating *something* with them. She was on the Enemies list as far as Publishers goes.
She is in a KH 20 miles away right now because the local hall still has the same old Elder in charge and he despises her. She'd rather switch than fight at this point.
There were a few like her in our KH. The Elders were good at keeping them down.
