  I have thought about it-a lot.

  That is why I'm on this board.

  Now, these same self-righteous POS are liberal, abortion loving, atheists, as Ex-JWs. W-T-F?

  Seriously, I am as liberal as the next Ex-JW, probably more than most. I've done more than my fair share of wild-living. However, I have never, ever deemed myself someone who would *tell on* someone else. For anything short of molestation, rape, murder, etc. Crimes, not morals. Make sense?

  I've seen first hand the absolute horrific damage that DFing does to someone. My mom was thisclose to suicide while DFd.

  When someone is willing to tell on someone for something like dancing to close or they *think* Brother X was tipsy at a wedding, I am just amazed that now they turn on the news and believe anything they hear. Amazed.

  Telling on someone (for such minor infractions) to gain favor with the Elders or with Jehovah is so crazy it is beyond comprehension. I knew that when I was 15. I knew that. How can an adult not see that?

  Finking on yourself is worse.

  Uh, yeah. She wanted to clear her conscience. I told her since she had told me, wasn't that good enough? She said that since they were like Priests, she would feel better. And, since she had only done *it* once, she would never be DFd, she'd be privately reproved. I begged, I pleaded etc. She insisted that the Brothers would be fair.

  Well DUH!!

  She was promply DFd and this was in the days of reading it from the platform and the whole "Sister X is DFd for Conduct Unbecoming a Christian". They pretty much said she committed fornication!

  We were at the KH, everyone stopped, turned, looked stared, glared and we just sat there. It was painful. At the end of the meeting everyone ignored us. Two nights before my BFF Kathy was speaking to me, that night, nada. She looked right through me.

  None of my relatives would speak to me. Or her. Her sisters cut her off. Everyone cut us off.

  I recall people getting *Finked* on others for the most ridiculous stuff-like listed above: Brother Z was drunk!

  Who the Funk made any of you the alcohol police? Who made any of you the dancing too fast police?

  Fucking crazy mind-controlled, brain-washed idiots, that's who.

  Anyone who did is a self-righteous hypocrite. IMO.

  If you did, you are a POS, IMO.

  I don't care why. I recall begging my mom to not go confess her *sin* to the elders. She did and got DFd. One time she did something. Once. I was 15 YO and begged and pleaded and told her they would DF her and BAM! she was gone.

  I ended up having to be her mother for the next 6 months while she fell into a grand depression. I had to grocery shop on my bike, cook, clean, etc, all because those M-fers DFd her. She would lie in bed and sob about how they ruined her life.

  She ended up getting reinstated and is now worse than ever with "The end of the system is here...."

  Oh, and did I mention the shunning of all family members while she was DFd? Yeah, I was shunned too by extention. Nice. I had no worldly friends, nor any JW friends.

  I H-A-T-E those people.

  my school was a couple weeks back, and it was interesting to a degree.

  to be honest with you, it reminded me of a police crime scene investigation with yellow tape.

  what i mean is, in one respect it was business as usual.

  Dead Birds And Fish

  does anyone have any idea why birds are literally dropping dead from the sky in four or five states.

  and even in sweden,hundreds of birds are dead.

  and fish are turning up dead too,not only in the states,but also brazil and new zealand.. they're trying to say new year's eve fireworks frightened the birds to death.

  How to tell my mom im moving out?? Need advice please

  well i'm 22 years old, still in college, i live with my mom but she is driving me crazy with her jw nonsense, ive been dealing with it all my life and i really cant take anymore of this, i have a boyfriend, non jw (which my mom hates) and i could barely see him because she doesnt let me go out!

  we have 4 years together and i really dont want to keep on like this, im not baptized but i am a publisher.... .

  so the thing is, i want to move out with my boyfriend but i have no idea how to break the news to her, she drives me nuts but shes my mother and i love her, i dont want to hurt her but enough is enough...she's probably going to disown me, but i really just want to be happy already...so does anybody have any ideas what i can do?.

  Well, having been in similar circumstance at your age, I would first do more than decide that you are going to live together.

  How are you going to pay your bills?

  Who is signing the lease? Both? One of you? If you (or he) decides that the living arrangement doesen't work out to either of your satisfations, what will you do? Move back in with Mummy?

  Believe me, that would be the worst.

  Is she supporting you in any way, shape or form? How will you support yourself if you lose your Mom or your boyfriend?

  Do you have student loans? How will you pay those after graduation?

  I know I sound like a kill-joy, however, I got zero advice and had to move into the worst dive because I absolutely would not move in with my JW Mom. I lived in a literal ghetto hovel with revolving roommates due to my money issues.

  However, it was better than living with a rabid JW. And, I paid all my bills. Then I moved in with my boyfriend. 2 years later. When I knew I could do it on my own. That was the key.

  Can you? Can you survive without anyone helping you?

  Do elders who get disfellowshipped blab about judicial committee's they served on?

  has anyone ever worried about confessing something to the elders, only to find that they spend the next 25 years worrying that if those elders in 'the know' leave the organisation or get disfellowshipped, maybe they couldn't care less about making your misdemeanor public knowledge.

  "if i'm going down, i'll take everyone i can with me".. i still worry about this scenario, and even though two of the elders in my case have died of old age, i will only feel really relieved once the last one does.. maybe current elders blab about the congregation members too.

  i sincerely hope they would be too scared to do this in case there is an official complaint made against them for defamation of character and breaking a fellow believers confidence..

  Think about all the stuff that has been *blabbed* about on this board by the Ex-Elders. If they are willing to spill the beans on their fellow Ex-JWs, why not spill the beans to their spouse on a DFd JW?

  My point? Yeah, they talk. My Mom tells me stuff, now. She will hear a story about Brother or Sister X and can't wait to tell me what they did. How does she know? She heard it from Sister Y who is married to the Elder who held the JC.

  They should all be Sued.

  Think about it. Privacy. Reputation. Etc. What happened to confidentiality? They are allowed to marry people and advise them like a minister, they should be held to the same standard.

  BTW, OP, what did you do? Can't be that bad. Do tell. We are all friends here.
