  I NEED AN OPERATION!

  i have just been told that i have an ovarian cyst and need an operation to remove it.

  apparently ihave had it a long time and it is a rather bizarre form of cyst called a dermoid cyst.

  i was wondering if any of the ladies on jwn have had the same type or know anything about them?

  I had this and had a laproscopic operation to remove the cyst.

  It was simple. The doc made three incisions: one for the laproscopy and two to inflate my abdomin. They have to inflate the abdomin to get the scope in.

  BTW, do read up on these cysts. Rarely are they cancer. They will do an ultrasound to look at it (if they haven't already) then a cancer screening to make sure that is clear and then decide if it needs out. Which it sounds like yours does. I also had my ovary removed. Once the cyst was gone and I was recovered from the incision pain, I couldn't believe the pain I had endured for a few years (in my gut, below my ribs, above my belly button) was gone. Just like that. Like a bruise cleared up. It made quality of life much better to be pain free.

  Recovery is about a week for the incisions.

  You'll be fine. Just ask lots of questions and make sure you have someone to drive you to the hospital; it is outpatient.

  Yoga......JW view

  i went to a yoga class last sunday and loved it!!

  i am going again tonight with my hubby.

  Confuzzled, since you are now running, yoga will really help with your running. There are lots of great running yoga programs and poses that will really help stretch out your limbs after a run.

  I do yoga after I run pretty much every time. I have less pain and less recovery time.

  If you have an iPhone there are lots of free podcasts you can download and watch free video on yoga specific for runners. It has been great.

  Also, Runner's World magazine online has a great area of their site which is devoted to yoga for runners. You may want to give it a try.

  Any Marathon Runners here??

  my hubby and i have registered for our first 1/2 marathon.

  now, i have never been a runner, which is kind of scary.

  but i have been going to a personal trainer 3 days a week for the past 11 weeks, in addition to doing 60 min.

  You really should at least run a 5K so you understand race dynamics.

  I run at least every other day and haven't yet gone the distance of a 1/2. I'm in the range of 6-7 miles. I see some really old gentlemen in my area (I'm talking in their late 70's) who run the local 5Ks and 1/2s here so I'm inspired to try for one of the local 1/2s this year. Heck, if someone that age can do it, I can at least try!

  Seeing all the people and how a race works would really give you a sense of what it is like. It is great fun and you'll get an idea of what your pacing should be. It is hard not to charge out of the gate (so to speak) and try to win (so to speak).

  I ran three 5Ks this past year and loved every one. I may not win, but I just loved the atmosphere.

  It doesn't take much...

  my wife and i were watching a movie yesterday.. after i finished working out i came upstairs and she was watching "notting hill" with julia roberts and hugh grant.. we've watched it before and both liked it, her because she likes julia and me because i like british humour.. and the end of the movie the shania twain song "you've got a way" played and i realised the the last time we saw that movie that we danced to that song :).

  i asked my wife to dance and there we were, slow dancing in the living room to shania twain.. i looked down at her and she had tears in her eyes and a big smile :).

  it doesn't take much to be happy, it really doesn't does it?.

  No, it doesn't take much. That was very sweet.

  I have some great memories of my husband and I dancing like that. Usually not after he works out though. He gets pretty smelly.

  My JW Neighbor Died

  i posted some time ago about my jw neighbor and how my other neighbors mowed her yard as a courtesy.

  she was old and wheel-chair bound and they were good samaritans.

  they were not dubs.

  My mom is saying she will refuse all medical treatment if something goes wrong. OTOH, she has rushed herself to the ER when she thought she had the flu and didn't want to die. Odd. She as talked numerous times of seeing her old relatives in the NS. She firmly believes she will just die and wake up new, young and, oh, I guess about age 35. C-R-A-Z-Y.

  BTW, the old relatives she talks about all rejected the JWs and wanted nothing to do with them. Did I mention C-R-A-Z-Y?

  Oh, and C-U-L-T.

  <sigh>

  I wish someone would mow my grass.

  the darth plagueis soap opera is already winding down.

  the hapless plagueis, it seems, said some naughty words that contravened the posting guidelines and he has brought down on his head the wrath of the owner and his moderators.

  regardless, this is not about the benevolent dictatorship that is jwn but about standards of behaviour, permissiveness and tolerance and what, exactly, causes offense.
