What your first realization of hypocrisy in this Religion?

This thread struck a nerve.

All of your examples above, I have seen or experienced on a personal level. The OPs opening post could have been written by me...I was 5 when my Mom got into the JWs gung ho (her family was in) and Armageddon was around the corner in 1975. She is the biggest hypocrite I have ever encountered. She speaks with a forked tongue and for a JW that seems normal.

I knew the JWs were phucked up by the time I was 10ish. I was planning my exit as I was planning how to move out of the house. Those went hand in hand. I didn't care if I were shunned. Glory Be! That would be fine. Being shunned by a group of NUTZ is OK with me. Seriously.

Oddly, my family is the oddsters who don't shun. I've fallen away (decades ago, married a Worldly, went to college, send holiday cards and all manner of Satan's Traps) and they still talk to me. Go figure.

The hypocritical stuff they have done over the years would make Jesus tell them "Go Away Satan!".

Teenager Advice

what advice do you have for a teenager that is being raised as a witness but not baptized?

everyone is pressuring her to get baptized how to avoid that till they are 18 and they are 16?

how to stay sane in a household of religion you don´t believe in.

As advised, be evasive. Do what you have to do to remain in the parent's good graces and don't give them any reason to throw you out when you turn 18. (My sister was thrown out, literally when she turned 18, for fornication!)

Any excuse the JW parents have to get rid of someone who is making them look bad to the other ~~robots~~, er, members of the congregation, they will take and not look back.

I got a job while in high school and used that as an excuse to fade away from going out in Field Service. I also fell back on "Since I'm earning money to pay for the car and college, what do you want me to do? Not go to work? I'm working and learning at the same time. Which is what you encouraged me to do...". This got me out of going door to door and lots of meetings. The logic worked with my Mother, your mileage may vary.

Babies Who Are Not Dead From An Abortion

a woman gets an abortion.

the baby is supposed to die because of the abortion but doesn’t.

should that living baby be put to death or should the baby be given medical help to survive?.

When you have a uterus, vagina and fallopian tubes you can an expert on abortion.

A woman who is pregnant will feel that the baby start to move at about 9 weeks. If a woman's health is so compromised that she needs to end her pregnancy at near term she has an option-caesarian section. There are seemingly no logical reasons that I can see for her to have a live birth and have the doctor(s) kill her baby to save her. None.

The doctors talking about it (Governor Northam of Virginia) like it is similar to getting a teeth cleaning are psychotic. They need to be examined for mental stability.

I am a woman and it absolutely makes me ill that this country kills so many babies. We should be giving out birth control, explaining how it works, etc. However, we should also make adoption easier. White families are looking to adopt children and are being held back due to being white. That too is wrong. They will take those children and love them. Why abort them?

earlier i posted about the call from close family about that the end is expected in very short time.. today i had the opportunity to speak in person.. this is what is told to me:.

Talked with a dyed-in-the-wool, loony-toon JW relative today and she must have had her eyes rolling back in her head as she spoke about how things are so bad on earth; how terrible mankind has been to all the "creatures" and mankind has destroyed the planet because Jehovah didn't train Adam and Eve how to care for it. Then she launched into a "I can't wait for Armageddon to happen so Jehovah will wipe out all these evil doers and we will be in Paradise."

I gotta say, listening to someone who is so completely insane makes you want to run outside and scream and then call a Psychiatrist and make 100 appointments to try to understand how anyone could wish death on all of mankind.

I know it's a cult, I know she is brain-washed, etc. I know all of that. But, when you hear someone talk about that so coldly and just rattle off "I can't wait for all of mankind to be destroyed at Armageddon" it makes your blood run cold and makes you question how this person isn't locked up.

A recent antiwitnessing experience

i shared one of these before in which my approach left something to be desired, and i got some flack for that, and rightly so.

so if this story doesn't go over well i won't share another... but given how it ended, i just had to share.... a few days ago i took a trip to a nearby city by bus.

in the about 20-30 minute window between my connecting buses i walked over to a mcdonald's and got a cup of coffee, and when i came back to the little bus station i saw a literature cart sitting unmanned near the doors.

The Great Tribulation is almost here...

Well, I tried to "Joke" with a couple of relatives about the Nutz JWs who went on a Naked Armageddon spree up in Canada. I got back a response which asked if I were serious...I got a second plea to ask me to make sure I wasn't on any Apostate sites because I could become DEMONIZED!

This is totally bizarre! Many doctors and peeps in medical field say
that some peeps come into hospital claiming to be JWs
and refuse blood transfusions when in reality, they are not JW's, but
peeps of various faiths. They are aware of the dangers
of blood transfusions, did research about the dangers of B.T.'s and fear
taking any blood products of any kind.

As for this case of insane behavior: it may be some lunatics with false
claims and they all seem to be mentally handicapped.

As for your comment to call or text you to confirm ..... are you
insulting me and insinuating that I am insane? WTH?

BTW, this is a real answer, not the Onion!!! BTW: are you reading
the stuff some nuts post against JW's on line? or Apostate
stuff? Please call or text me to confirm before you do this, please!

I just sent that story about the crazy JWs who thought it was Armageddon to my Mom and relatives (all JWs) and told them to text or call me before doing the same thing...I hope they understand the emoticons I attached...

I have tried for years to get my Mom and other relatives to wake up. It is hopeless. Even a BIL who was never in is entrapped. He listens to the crap and now thinks if he gets in he will see his recently deceased wife in the New System. Very sad. When a Cult has control of your emotions (and all family interactions) you will bow to it.

I don't and if they cut me off-I am better off. They are of the "we don't care if you're DAd, DFd, etc. we'll ignore" school of thought, so I'm lucky I guess. However, highly dysfunctional so I could do without all the drama and Armageddon, Great Tribulation talk when I do talk to them. It consumes them. They are NUTZ.

I like that song.

I love rock and roll from the 60s to now. Listening to some of the lyrics from some of my favorite songs makes me blush. Now. I didn't care then and I can sing every verse in the car as I drive along.

If anyone goes after every song (and they could), we will have no songs left!

I won't even start on Rap and that genre. I've only heard a little, however, the #MeToo people need to look into that and perhaps start a campaign to clean that up.

Trying to get a JW to listen to an anti-JW message is tough enough. When they are confronted with any anti-JW message they immediately go into "You must be 1) An Apostate, 2) Demonized, 3) Influenced by Satan-see 2, 4) Evil Worldly, etc.

They will not listen. Why bother? You don't influence the people around the JWs and very few, if any, people around will care. People going on their day will care less.

I don't miss any of them. A bunch of self-righteous hypocrites. When I have visited my Mother back in the home city and we've gone out, we've encountered local JWs I grew up with. They will look through me like I'm invisible. Won't say hello or acknowledge me. I am not DFd or Disassociated. Just a fader.

That said, I hear from one of them daily.

Yes, daily. My Mother. She calls me at least once and depending on her need to chatter to someone, up to 11 times a day. She has run off all members of the JWs as friends, all other JW family and pretty much has no one to speak to except me, her Apostate child left! How is that for funny?!
