I remember seeing a history channel/discovery channel show about noah's ark, that described that it could have been a mistranslation (and is most likely). It said that Noah was a business man and had infact a business of transporting goods and animals to different parts across rivers. And that they could have infact built the ark for business purposes directed by God but transported animals as business means (don't quote me). When the flood came Noah was probably on the ark transporting animals and so forth according to the business needs. When it stopped raining, he saw and looked in all directions that there was no land to be seen anywhere and thought 'the whole world has flooded ' ...and the whole atlantis sinking thing. I may not know whether the actual situation of Noah's flood is true or not, But i'm not looking for places to find it to be false. I'm not spending my time looking for ways to PROOVE the belief that God doesn't exist.

God is love. Love exists everywhere in the hearts of people that want it and desire and yearn for it. How can you say God doesn't exist and turn around and look at your wife and say 'i love you' ...or your son...daughter...friend...neighbor.

And for those that state 'love is nothing more then eating large quanities of chocolate' ...don't understand what love really is. they havn't felt that deep intimate love that literally makes you cry with utter joy where you don't care whether you get married, have a house, or live on the streets, but that you are utterly happy for being alive, and just being YOU and knowing that love...the most powerful energy there is...is infact alive...because when you feel it....it's nothing like eating large quanities of chocolate. It's not an EMOTION... Love is more than that. Usually people get all 'emotional ' and say 'I LOVE YOU!!!!' ....that's not love....love is (like the matrix said) a connection... God connects us all those that want love. But in order to see God.. or KNOW God...you gotta accept first the idea of 'truth' ...and the truth is...there IS a God. If you can't even accept that, how can anyone say that God doesn't EXIST and prove it by a mistranslated and mistold ...telephone game story that existed over 5000 years ago? you shouldn't be looking for ways to prove he doesn't exist, but find ways that he does. If your aim was infact to prove his existance, you'd find it. But it's more comfortable to feel that no one controls your destiny except you. Or at least that's what most athetist feel. but you fail to realize that if you knew truth...you'd be free...to make your own destiny...and that there is a black board that's got your entire purpose written on it..but its not by GOD it's YOU that writes it.

i've read so many different discussions about 587 b.c.[e.

i often wondered if those issues were debatable; either way, i found the discussions of the historical data to be far too technical for the average person to absorb.

if i may be so bold, i consider myself as slightly above average, in my more arrogant moments.

Why? Why go through this trouble? Why insist that true Christianity is dependent on Bible chronology instead of on faith in Jesus Christ? Why preach a good news that is directly dependent on said chronology? This is not the message Jesus Christ preached. His focus was on love of God, love of neighbor, of repentance and faith. These are easy things for anyone to understand. They don't require a calculator, or blind faith in any group of men. They just require belief in the Lord Jesus Christ--his coming, his death, his resurrection, his ransom in behalf of our sins.

Because

1) The lack of real Faith, which does not require any PROOF to validate it.

I once asked a Baptist why he reads the bible...he said "I need something external to prove what i'm beliving." This person Walks by physical sight, not the spiritual eyes of faith. He puts his faith by validation of physical things that he can sense by the five senses. Touch Taste, Sight, Hear, Smell. Real Faith is beyond the physicality of the flesh...Those which do NOT require physical proof. Their 'expectation' is ASSURED. When they referr ONLY to the bible and need men in NY or any other validation appeased by their five senses for their belief system ...instead of going STRAIGHT to Christ...This to me is referred to as 'blind faith' ...because their faith itself is blind, and obscured by the need to have somehting substantial ...physical...that's either in writing to see or heard by other men. . That being If they really had the fruitage of the spirit of Faith...they would not need to do all this chronological stuff. They could infact her the voice within their heart that speaks truth that does reveal all things to them. (1john 2:27)

Unfortunately, Most of us still don't get this which is why References to the bible (a misunderstood/mistranslated/NOT the Word of God, :::Revelation: 19:13::::) book is placed. Some people (and me included because my faith is not yet perfected) have not had our 'faith perfected' by means of Christ. Which is why scriptural references are sometimes desired.

2) Not to mention that Daneil Told the King that the dream was about HIM...the tree thatwas chopped...etc..

"The Tree that you saw...It is you O King!"(Daniel 4:21-22) The tree was NOT in anyway identified with Christ and his rulership.

3) Mt 28:18 clearly states when Christ revieved his kingship. Upon after his 'resurrection' he appeared to the desciples stating: "All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me"

Christ openly confessed this. Only a king has 'all authority.'

The Kingdom of God which is ETERNAL has continued it's eternal rule ...however, upon his resurrection, Christ himself was given ALL authority over this. The kingdom is eternally ruled. However, I must confess, that the whole WORLD is under the power of the wicked one. (1 peter 5:19) and also the Kingdom is no part of this WORLD (John 18:36). This earth is stored up for FIRE and Judgement(2 peter 3:7) and, will 'cease to exist' and those belonging to Christ and are 'meek' will be given inheritance into the kingdom to the NEW heavens and NEW earth (Revelation 21:1)

so every time i pray and think about my relationship with my girlfriend, i keep feeling the need to read proverbs 4:8 .... .

But everytime I pray...i continually feel like this scripture in relation to my question...keeps coming up.

Now sometimes when I read scriptures I realize the real message is HIDDEN beneath the covers. The main message is different from what we interrptate it as. (duh!...no wonder we have so many misunderstands) ... So I would like your guys' opinion. What does this proverb mean to you? ALL you HUSBANDS that have GOOD relationships with their wives.

I'm also open to the idea of hearing from the women.

I am doing it at a JW event because that is where I feel my assignment is. I go almost every year to this place. This was the congregation that disfellowshiped me. The thought that I was disfellowshiped; I was aware of the fact that it may not be counted, but that's irrelavent. One year a little boy about 12 years of age came up to me and asked if I was annointed. I told him Yes. And he asked how do I knew that. I said 'Everyone is invited to eat and drink the bread and one' or something to that effect...and if eel that it might have caused some sort of understanding either then or somewhere down the line. Thanks all!

I am going but not becuase i'm attached to the organization somehow. First of all, I'm disfellowshiped, I've written to the society and written to the elders informing them of various misunderstandings. I was disfellowshiped because I believed the Bible OVER the watchtower. I am going to PARTAKE because that is what John 6:51-54 states... that 'ANYONE may eat of it' and live... Doesn' tmean JUST the annointed but rather 'UNLESS you eat the flesh of the Son of man and Drink his blood, you have NO life in you' ...my partaking is a reminder of what they SHOULD do. They are the ones that are 'shutting up the kingdom of the heavens' by telling people that ONLY 144000 are the ones to eat. Even though John 6:51-54 states 'ANYONE' may eat of it. And 'UNLESS you eat...you have no life in yourselves' ...

I am not a Jw anymore. I have my faults...I get lonely, I get depressed. I get mad, I get upset. I am human. I have my ups and downs as anyone else here does. That doesn't mean we ought not to partake. It's BECAUSE of those reasons that we OUGHT to eat...so that our sins can be covered by the Blood of Christ.
