i caught it out of the corner of my eye...and when i looked up...well, it lasted so long...it had a very bright streak and a thick bright trail.

hi.. i have been a witness since birth (will be 30 years in june 2009).

got baptised when i was 15 (pressured into it by my parents, plus, i was promised my first home pc if i did get baptised before turning 16).. both my parents serve in the uk bethel.

i have an older brother and younger sister, both of which are witnesses.. i am married to a witness and live in cyprus (i am english).

Just be honest to your wife.

Tell her what is going on how you feel.... maybe she feels the same way, maybe not... but at least you can try to find a proper solution together and it might save your mariage

Why do we care so much?........

for immediate family and friends?

?.....why do some of us go nearly crazy cause we cant get them out??

?........why does it matter so much to us?..........some are better off in as they are too old to replace their entire social structure....like my folks.

I have got JW familie who still treat me like a normal human being, like my mother ans kid sister and others who only talk to me when necessary and when we bumb into eachother on the street , like my father and one of my sisters.

Now I turned it around..... I told them my father and my sister that I won't greet them when I bumb into them on the street. Because for me it's al or nothing... That realy shocked them and it let them feel a littebit like how it feels for me to be shunned.... Ofcourse I hope this will be an eyeopener, and if it does not, at least it feels like fair treat

Another thing I do is realy good for my self esteem and sometimes also verry funny. When I bumb in to JW's I know. I just say hello to them. The fact that they have to shunn me, does not mean that I have to do the same....

The reactions are great, some are in total shock and say nothing others talk to me and then ask how I'm doing and try to find out If maybe I'm no longer Disf'd. Others try to run away the next time they see you....but... some of them actualy are nice talk to you ask how you're doing and say hi to me the next time they see me.

simon and mods...i am getting pms and e-mails from our newbies...even asking me to post what they want to post.

?....cause they have blueball from having to wait so long to register here and post.....i just think that it may be a good idea to loosen rules some to let them post at least three times a day and unlimited after that.

isn't that what mods are for?....to catch anything that is a prob and kill it?...so if that provision is in place...then why the limit?.........these newbies are bustin at the seams........so why have these strict limits if we have mods?....now that last one is my question....i posted the rest for the newbies.........oomps.

and I think it's a good idea to have us wait for a while before we can post as much as we want to.

In that way only the ones who realy are interested stay.. And 10 posts a day is not that bad...

Hello my name is Stefan I'm new on this forum and from Holland. So if my english is poor sometimes I apologize..

I got babtised in 1987 when I was 12 years old and I renember that before you were babtised you had to study a book and then review it in three times with three diferent elders and with the last review I had a discusion whit that elder about that last question asked.

" Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spiriit-directed organization?"

I asked him why it was not enough to dedicate yourself to Jehovah? And what if the Watchtower and tract org. would no longer be the GB?
The elder was very shocked by that question and told me that this was impossible, then I replied that Jehovah probably also did not expect Adam and Eve to sin and that also happened so anything is possible.

Eventualy I got babtised anyway, because I was stil young and naive and thought if almost anything is right this wil be okay too.

But later on I heard from my father, who was an elder too, that the three elders doubted because of this question I asked, wether they should advise me to wait a few years or not to get babtised..

the story about this was posted here earlier when it all started in fresno, ca.

the community rallied behind this jw family, and one church even gathered enough donations from it's members that they paid off her $25,000 mortgage.. this was in the paper this morning.

she and her family were at the church that donated the money for her mortgage to watch the show.
