  it used to for me, and now it doesn't.. i'm not sure how i was able to accept that argument now that i don't, but perhaps it was connected with my increasing compassion for people and their personal suffering as i've grown older.. now it seems like a sick excuse.

  I read your explanation and you posit:

  1. To have free will necessitates the possibility of acting in such a way that a child is raped.

  2. Fighting and overcoming the pain of child rape produces good qualities in people which couldn't have come without child rape.

  You're wrong.

  Here's why:

  1. You can easily see that we are limited with free will such that we can't a rape child with our thoughts. Why not make that an impossibility to act on?

  2. We'd hardly excuse the government official who knew and had the ability to stop the rape of a child and refused to do so because of all the good qualities overcoming being raped as a child would produce.

  So why does God get off the moral hook?

  Present that lame excuse as an elected official to your constituents and see how that gets you un-elected and in jail.

  Tec , US-TOE aside - is there ANY adequate explanation?

  There are people here who still retain the idea that this being, this intelligence behind the universe has a morality anywhere close to finding any acceptability with humans.

  Failing that test, should find a rejection of this being/intelligence but it doesn't for some bizarre Anton-Bibinski-esque reason.

  Do you see how your tangential expressions on the matter fall into this same category?

  Of course if you're on the panel of elders reconvening after you've filed your DA letter eloquently denouncing the whole sham and posting dozens of youtube videos which have been remixed all over the place, what are you to do when faced with a sound of mind, rational professedly sincere ex-elder-bethelite-pioneer person who says ...

  I still think it's rather Anton-Babinski-esque that so many here can't answer how it is that the US-TOE (Universal-Sovereignty-Theory-Of-Evil) is an adequate argument for Jehovah allowing child rape to happen.

  Ok. My turn to post too much stuff...

  My take on the ones who can't see the disconnect between any concept of God, their own professed morality, their peculiar conception of a God who is ostensible the source of these morals, but who fails to follow its own is a lot like people who suffer from Anton-Babinski syndrome.

  The following is from Wikipedia...

  Anton–Babinski syndrome is mostly seen following a stroke, but may also be seen after head injury. It is well described by the neurologist Macdonald Critchley:

  The sudden development of bilateral occipital dysfunction is likely to produce transient physical and psychical effects in which mental confusion may be prominent. It may be some days before the relatives, or the nursing staff, stumble onto the fact that the patient has actually become sightless. This is not only because the patient ordinarily does not volunteer the information that he has become blind, but he furthermore misleads his entourage by behaving and talking as though he were sighted. Attention is aroused however when the patient is found to collide with pieces of furniture, to fall over objects, and to experience difficulty in finding his way around. He may try to walk through a wall or through a closed door on his way from one room to another. Suspicion is still further alerted when he begins to describe people and objects around him which, as a matter of fact, are not there at all. One theory is that damage to the visual cortex results in the inability to communicate with the speech-language areas of the brain.   The thing is that his/her posting style is counterproductive to an exchange of ideas.
