Smartgirlpw, you asked me early on if the Truth hurts. YES IT DOES. When I found out the TRUTH about the WTBTS, it hurt very much. I thought they had the definate, absoloute TRUTH. I now find that they only have a different interpretation than others.

BTW, you addressed me as if I were a DF/DA'd JW. I AM NOT. I will never be a JW in it's current 1914 dogmatic beurocratic (spelling) configuration.

Yes it does HURT me Smartgirlpw, elspecially when you are espoused to bible truths, and then betrayed by the very same people who BREAK THEIR OWN RULES.

You made a statement earlier:

The term "so called brothers" is an insult, especially with ones on this board who wish WT reform and still believe it as God's channel. At least half of these people were "thrown out" because they disagreed with the Society, and the others DAd because their conciences would not allow active membership.

The many people on this board who "bash Jehovah's Witnesses" as you say are not bashing JWs, they are bashing the WTBTS, who is indeed responsible for their pain and suffering. If you regard my comments directed at you to be "bashing Jehovah's Witnesses", I would implore you to re-read the post, as I was commenting on YOU not taking your religion seriously. I call it your religion because you stated that you were seeking reinstatement in an earlier post on another thread. You attitude regarding "so called brothers" and "falling away" also reinforces this.

Also, the "imposing of viewpoints" comes partly from those who truly HATE JWs, and from others who do not wish to see another human being live through the trauma of "new light" that contradicts the "old light", and leaves them lost in the ocean.

I agree with JAVA, and I think you are correct regarding the "1975 fiasco". Maybe it was to weed out people who were NOT loyal to a group of men who profess themselves (and their followers) PROPHETS! The problem is, what happens when loyalty to the org overrides loyalty to Jehovah God? THAT is when things get tricky, and that is the root of the argument that started, and your obvious belief in the org. as "God's organization" is why I still feel sorry for you.

Earlier statements regarding a request for reinstatement leads me to believe that you still consider the WTBTS' bible interpretation as "truth". Even though they sometimes use the phrase "present truth". I feel sorry that you are being misled, nothing more.

Some of us here still do love Jehovah and the organization in spite of our gripes

This is an attack on one's integrity, paralleled with a misconception that none of us love Jehovah God. (Blow #1) Likewise, the assumption that "the organization" and Jehovah are connected as often taught the rank and file JW is what leads to comments such as yours, despite being "DF'd for lying".

To each his own, but give it a rest already about all this "wah,wah" stuff.

This is an attack on one's character. As I've said before, many here are in pain and in a healing process from what was once believed to be "God's only channel to mankind", using tactics that would put Alfred Hitchcock to shame. Your "pity parties" are their healing. When you make statements such as:

Since the statement was directed toward me, your wording of insecurity not being a pleasent quality was implied as such. If this is not what you meant, you should not have worded it as such. I would ask you to elaborate, but I would like an intelligent discussion, not a bantering of words (surely we are not babes in diapers).

BTW, I am glad that you got rid of that unappreciative brother (from another post) it seems you did not need him anyway.

Well hello there Smartgirlpw.

We have got to stop judging and just make do with our situations and either "piss or get off the pot" as it were. Remember, this is suppossed to be an open forum, not a bashing forum. To each his own, but give it a rest already about all this "wah,wah" stuff.

The "pissing" that I hear on this forum are people who have been through some interesting, and COMMON experiences. I don't know about you, but I NEVER get off the pot until I'm finished pissing. To do so, especially when you still have pissing to do is silly, and sometimes MESSY.

As far as this being an open forum, you are correct. Anyone is free to comment/complement/praise/bash anything they like. The theological (and otherwise) discussions on this board go far beyond "what does the latest issue of WT and awake say to you?"

The FDS is to dispense with "food at the proper time", perhaps the "1975 Fiasco" was exactly what was needed to weed the garden?

Well, let me see. From my research, and looking in the WTs of the late sixtys, early seventys, seems to me that the WTBTS "expected" many things to occur, and, wouldn't it by a "fullfilment of the divine promise" for the end of this system of things! How wonderful! No need to marry! No need to educate onesself! PREACH PREACH PREACH! That's all you need to do!

Oh excuse me. Oh, and regarding this little comment about "1975 Fiasco". Are you saying that the garden was weeded from those who put TOO MUCH faith in "God's spirit-directed organization"? Did these people listen to TOO MUCH of their "food at the proper time"? Wow. Doesn't look like you JWs take your religion as seriously as your GB thinks you should. You know, speaking of "1975 fiascos", were you not baptized after the initial DECLINE of members because of this fiasco? But, I guess this is not important to you anyway. Maybe you are like so many other xtian church-goers, and you don't take this "religion" stuff too seriously, do you?

You know, I feel sorry for you. I would recommend that you research into the "1975 fiasco", but all you will do is look at the commentary from the VERY ORGANIZATION that wants to put themselves in a good light. May God help you!

during this talk i was explaining to him why i was reluctant to be baptised a jw.

we got into many lengthy discussions on various topics.. one thing we discussed was jehovah (duh!

I have recently had a similar conversation with a JW ex-friend of mine. He told me once that he had no mediator, then he came back and told me that Jesus Christ was his mediator, yet he does not consider himself annointed. He is truly confused, and the WT doesn't seem to be addressing the issue very well. From what I can tell, they are evading the subject.

According to the WTBTS, the 144,000 are in the covenent with Christ. The "other sheep" are not. This explains to me many reasons why JWs are so non-Christian in some respects. I speculate whether the annointed consider themselves the only true Christians.

Grunt, I wonder what your friend thought about not having a mediator, and how that effected her will to preach, since she was told to 'preach the kingdom' and make desciples as Jesus had directed. I also would love to hear her views of taking "spiritual food" from "God's spirit-directed organization" and remaining in his favor by being associated with it when TECHNICALLY she did not need a mediator at all, and could go one-on-one with Jehovah God.

Boy am I glad I didn't get baptized. No wonder JWs are so depressed.
