  i see that there are many people on here who've left the jw's and are still christians...but i wonder what type?

  non denominational?

  has anyone changed to something completely different like hindu or buddhism?

  Interesting. Thanks. At this point in time, I would consider myself a pagan (because I simply do not believe wholeheartedly in Christianity, Muslim, Hindu, etc...) But there are very few people I would say that to, mainly because of the associated thoughts that go along with it. Most people are prejudice with that word.

  I went to a Unitarian Church out in California once, and on that particular day, they brought in a Wiccan to teach us about their faith. It was the wildest thing! They were very kind, and I rememember thinking how the Wiccan AND the Uniterians were pretty stinkin' cool .

  Maybe I'll try to find a Unitarian Church in my area next.

  So, do the pagans on here do their own thing? or are you part of a pagan church? What kind of friendships/fellowship do you have? It's not like you can just tell everyone you're a pagan....or do youuuu?

  I like the person's comment about not being a religion but going to church for fellowship .

  A lot of people just said they're Christians...does that mean you don't go to church at all?

  Wow, lots of good comments. Did I mention that we ran into about twenty people that we know at the Methodist sevice yesterday?...along with a lady who works with my jw sister. I figured that the lady wouldn't think twice before mentioning to my sis that she saw me at her church. To "them" its not a big deal....so I went ahead and told my sister today. I said it very nonchalantly....started off reiterating the fact that I want to do research like I've never done before. I said I want to find the good, the bad, truth, nontruth about the jws and all other religions, for that matter. And then I dropped the bomb on her. I didn't say anything bad about the church, because quite honestly, there was nothing bad to say at this point. I just pointed out all the times the society told us to do our research, to which she agreed. I'd say it went a little better than planned.

  Well, we got into chapter 2 today. I felt like I really needed to back off and go with the flow a bit. I did ask her, though, who originally discovered that YHWH's name is Jehovah? She didn't know and said she'd check on it. All in all, I'd say it went smoothly.

  So nobody feels like they should go to a church, and that its okay to simply have Christ in your heart? Doesnt anybody to go church for the social aspect?

  No Religion. All Religion is man-made. So you believe Religion is man made, but jesus' story is not?

  I take the naive route many times and assume that most people like me. However, I've noticed that many of the regular female commenters on this site never have anything to say on my threads. In fact, if I've commented on any of theirs, many times they don't respond. Maybe they just think I'm an attention whore. I've got middle child syndrome. And I'm a Leo. And in 7th grade I was chosen for the lead role in the play, Narcissus.

  I'm still pretty friggen nice, and funny when I wanna be. I hope everyone likes me, but que sera sera if they dont.

  I see that there are many people on here who've left the jw's and are still Christians...but I wonder what type? Non Denominational? Has anyone changed to something completely different like Hindu or Buddhism? We tried going to a Baptist church a couple months ago, and I could tell it wasn't the place for us once the minister started bashing gay people within 5 minutes of the sermon. Yesterday, we went to a Methodist Church for the first time, and I almost got a little teary-eyed from the overwhelming feeling of acceptence during the sermon. They weren't love bombing us, although they were very friendly and welcoming. Not sure how to explain it....it wasn't so much the words that I was hearing but the Feeling of it all (yes, I'm a girl)

  They passed the plate around, but people had put their money into envelopes so you couldn't really see how much each person was putting in.

  We went to lunch with the couple/friends we went to church with. The wife commented how awesome it was (it was their first time going too) and that she needsthat in her life. It was her opinion, but it made me feel uneasy. I don't want to NEED something like that, but the experience was pretty darn cool

  Anyway, I'm just wondering what faith, religion, or non-religion you have turned to...? Thanks!

  Tired of hiding

  every now and then i get the urge to write a disassociation letter and mail it to my former congregation and then i stop and think i have active family members who are jws and the whole urge fizzles out.

  does anyone else feel like this?.
